Ewan McGregor has made a name for himself in Hollywood. He's done it all: Indie films, musicals, franchises, and blockbusters. He's starred in projects across multiple genres, including sci-fi, drama, romance, and action. He can play characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise and Halston, the titular character in Ryan Murphy's new Netflix show. Basically, he's one of Hollywood's most profitable actors. He just took home an Emmy last year, but the number one prize he's won is fatherhood. McGregor is the proud father of five, but his two oldest daughters, Clara and Esther-Rose, whom he had with his ex-wife Eve Mavrakis, are very close. As the daughters of a celebrity, they have to stick together.

Updated on August 19, 2022: Esther McGregor has recently stepped into the acting world, even appearing in an episode of Disney's Obi-Wan Kenobi with her father. She went on to star in a short entitled The Palisades and an upcoming TV series called High School. Clara has also kept busy with two projects already released this year and four more currently in the works. Even with such busy schedules, these sisters still make time to see each other and continue to share nothing but support for one another.

Esther-Rose Taught Her Older Sister How To Appreciate Her Sexuality

In 2019, the McGregor sisters boycotted Coachella because the festival's founder is allegedly anti-LGBTQ. While speaking out, they both revealed that they are bisexual. It was Esther-Rose who taught her older sister to appreciate her sexuality.

On her Instagram, Clara published an appreciation post to her sister, writing, "My little sister showed me how to be proud of my bisexuality. She taught me what it meant to be unapologetically myself, in all aspects, because she has always been so honest and true to herself. I didn’t know how to define my sexuality, and I didn’t feel comfortable labeling it, Esther showed me how."

When Esther-Rose revealed her sexual orientation on social media, Clara commented, "Love you boo. I'll hop on the train and say I'm bisexual too. Carry on!" So they are definitely supportive of each other.

How Do The McGregor Sisters Feel About Their Dad's New Relationship?

The McGregor sisters haven't just supported each other, they've also worked with one another. They modeled together for Fendi a couple of times, so it probably wasn't such a chore. Who wouldn't want to model for a fancy fashion company with their sister and best friend?

While they've stayed together in their beliefs and at work, they've also come together to voice their opinions on their father's new girlfriend, now wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Esther-Rose has started a career in music with her band French Thyme, but before the band's creation, she debuted a song with lyrics that seemingly called out her father's new relationship with Winstead, which ended her parent's marriage.

According to IB Times, in Esther-Rose's song "Make You A Man," she sings the lyrics, "seeing those pictures, they're making me cry," of course, referring to published photos of McGregor and Winstead at the beginning of their affair. Esther-Rose posted a video of herself singing the song on her Instagram.

More of the song's lyrics read: "Waking up so slowly... I'm taking my time. I read some dumbs**t that I found online," she sang. "Seeing those pictures... They're making me cry. Happy birthday to me, am I right? And I don't know to forgive... I don't know if I can... Ruining me. Show me your man. And I don't know to forgive... Don't know if I can... Ruining me. Show me your man."

Clara has also inconspicuously touched on her father's affair as well. After Clara posted a picture of her mother in a bikini, one fan commented to Clara to keep her mother away from her boyfriend. Clara wrote back, "Nah I keep her away from a–hole men who leave my goddess of a mother. :)"

Many people thought this was a dig at McGregor, but apparently, it wasn't. Clara took to social media again to deny the claims. "Let’s make one thing clear. I was not attacking my dad or calling him [an] a–hole," Clara wrote over a screenshot of an article talking about her comment. "I was simple saying she deserves someone who isn’t one. F— tabloids. Don’t believe everything you read."

However, Clara has made direct comments about Winstead. On a Winstead fan page, Clara commented, "Most beautiful and talented woman on earth? Oh man y’all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash x." Later, she did apologize, saying, "It wasn’t the most mature way to go about things, but I was angry and upset."

Both McGregor sisters seem to have gotten over their father's misdeeds and accepted Winstead into the family now. They seemed joyful meeting their new baby brother this past summer. McGregor and Winstead welcomed their son Laurie in June 2021, and both of his older sisters took to their social media to post a picture of the first time they got to hold him.

"Welcome to the world little brother congratulations to my Dad & Mary - this is the greatest gift," Clara wrote on her Instagram, while Esther-Rose wrote, "Met my little brother looking like a pirate. I recommend! Welcome to the family little Laurie 🥰 Ps. If your gunna comment something nasty remember you’re on a 19-year-olds Instagram who is happy with the family she now has. So your comment will immediately be deleted and not seen."

So no matter what happens in the McGregor family, Clara and Esther-Rose will always be there for one another. That's what we like to hear; The force is strong in their family.
