No... they're not romantically involved with one another nor have they ever. But the truth is, the chemistry between George Clooney and Julia Roberts on and off-screen is nothing short of electric. This is why so many fans have believed that the two Hollywood A-listers have been involved with one another.

It's true, Julia Roberts has had a complicated relationship with many other celebrities, such as Hugh Grant and Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin who hated working with her. But this isn't the case with Hollywood prankster extraordinaire, George Clooney.

The two have been in a handful of movies together, including Oceans 11, Oceans 12, and 2016's Money Monster. But they appear to be just as close when they aren't sharing the screen.

Let's dig into the truth of their relationship...

Ocean's 11 Brought Them Together, Ocean's 12 Changed Their Dynamic

In 2014, George Clooney and Julia Roberts sat down to do an interview with Vanity Fair. In it, the two went into detail about their relationship and exactly how they met. While it sounds provocative that they met at the famous Chateau Marmont, the truth of their meeting was anything but.

"This was for Ocean's," George explained of their 1999/2000 meeting.

"We had been long-reported best-friends and had never met before," Julia cut in.

"No. And we met in a hotel room in the Chateau Marmont. With Steve Soderbergh. And we heard that she was making her 20th picture at that point so we offered her 20 dollars."

"They sent me a script with a $20 bill in it."

"And then she said 'yes' [to starring in Ocean's 11]."

George Clooney and Julia Robert's chemistry in Ocean's 11 was truly electric. It was clear from the start that they could easily star in a number of films together since they gelled with one another so naturally.

While the two stars got along well while making Ocean's 11, Julia found herself being stuck in the middle of some of George Clooney's pranking wars with his colleagues. This was especially true when they were all filming Ocean's 12 in Rome.

"When I got to the hotel in Rome, [during the production of Ocean's Twelve] I opened my suitcase and there was this giant, heavy bronze statue in my suitcase and I almost burst into tears, 'How could they do this to me?'" Julia told Entertainment Weekly back in 2017.

Apparently, George believed that the suitcase belonged to someone else, but laughed when Julia got the shrapnel. However, according to Nicki Swift, he and the rest of the cast changed their tune when they found out she was pregnant, which was also a revelation that was controversially incorporated into the film itself.

"It was such a sweet shift in our relationships because originally, it was all pranks and teasing each other," Julia told Allure Magazine. "And here I am pregnant, so it’s like pulling out my chair and just making sure I have enough water and, 'Are you feeling okay? You look a little peaked.' 'I’m fine.'"

During their joint 2014 interview with Vanity Fair, George and Julia were asked what they both require on a film set. After some jokes, Julia answered that she needs a sense of comradery which is precisely what she has whenever she works with George Clooney. While the two of them have only co-starred in a number of movies together, George has also produced Julia in projects such as August: Osage County.

But, as Julia said in an interview with People, she and George are actually good friends off of the set and not just "Hollywood" friends who like shooting movies together. No, they really do like each other...

In 2013, at the BAFTA Awards, Julia presented George with an honorary award and sung his praises. In his acceptance speech, George said this:

"It has been such a pleasure to watch the woman you have become. It’s very hard for me to be just straight nice because she’ll get me later. But [she is] just an amazing mother, an amazing wife and a great, great friend. It’s really an honor to have her here."

What's The Dynamic Between George, Julia, And Amal?

Of course, Julia and George have been subjected to a number of romantic rumors, according to IBTimes. But all of these rumors have been completely debunked.

Apparently, Julia is a big fan of the woman who finally tied George Clooney down. While she didn't attend George and Amal's otherwise star-studded wedding in Italy, she has gone on record claiming how much she loves Amal and has been out to dinner with them as a couple Although she was asked the question in terms of whether or not she approves, according to People.

"George doesn’t need my approval, but I am quite enamored [with] her."

So, while there will always be rumors about a romantic connection between Julia and George, it's clear that they are just really good friends who support one another.
