Tyler the Creator and Jaden Smith are longtime friends and collaborators, but in recent years, the pair’s closeness appeared to have been because the two were seeing each other at one point, or so Jaden Smith says!

Jaden Smith, who recently became CEO of JUST Water, revealed their relationship status during a performance, however, fans weren't buying it! Despite the questions, it goes without saying that these two are certainly very good friends, or were they, roommates?

Jaden has often praised Tyler in his interviews, and they’ve even collaborated on their music in the past — not to mention that they also vacation together with their mutual friends and probably share the tightest bromance in Hollywood.

Updated on July 24th, 2021, by Michael Chaar: Jaden Smith and Tyler The Creator are both leading names in the music industry, allowing them to foster quite the special bond. During a 2018 performance, Jaden Smith revealed that Tyler The Creator was, in fact, his boyfriend. While fans didn't know whether or not to believe him, Jaden stuck by his statement, giving Tyler the opportunity to shed light on the topic. While the status of their relationship remains a mystery, the duo are still friendly, although not as close as they once were. Jaden recently launched his own earbud line, along with two albums, all while Tyler released his newest album, Call Me If Your Lost, back on June 25, 2021, making it clear these two are busy!

Is Tyler The Creator Jaden's Boyfriend?

In January 2020, Jaden - clearly ecstatic over Tyler’s win for Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammys - tweeted to his millions of followers: “My Boyfriend Just Won A Grammy.”

Of course, this didn’t shock fans given that this also isn’t the first time that Jaden has insisted on sharing (or having shared) a relationship with his close pal.

At Tyler’s annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival back in November 2018, Will Smith’s son took to the stage for a performance of his song, ICON, before telling the crowd that he’s supposedly been romantically involved with the Earfquake hitmaker.

"I just want to say, Tyler, the Creator is the best friend in the world and I love him so f--king much," he gushed. "Tyler doesn’t want to say, but Tyler’s my motherf--king boyfriend, and he’s been my motherf--king boyfriend my whole f--king life. Tyler, the Creator is my f--king boyfriend. It’s true."

The first time Jaden made the bold claim out in public had left fans in shock, as it only took a matter of seconds before their names began trending on Twitter, with people wondering whether they were being pranked or whether their romance was the real deal.

Well, a couple of weeks later and Jaden stayed firm on what he had said at the carnival when he appeared on Beats 1 Radio for a candid chat about his music and personal life.

"I recently said that Tyler, the Creator is my boyfriend, and that’s true. So, just so you know,” the 22-year-old stressed, though fans weren’t all that convinced anymore — especially since Tyler never commented on Jaden’s remark.

Soon after his Beats 1 interview, Jaden didn’t speak on the supposed relationship again until the Grammys, when he referred to Tyler as his boyfriend during his congratulatory tweet.

Tyler The Creator Breaks His Silence

After releasing his 2017 album, Flower Boy, Tyler came forward to address some of the lyrics that alluded to his sexuality, notwithstanding the controversial song, “I Ain’t Got Time!”

On this particular track, the VMA award-winning star says: “I’ve been kissing white boys since 2004.” Here, the rapper makes it known he’s hidden his feelings for someone before — but fans quickly wondered whether this was because he still hadn’t come out to his family at the time.

Tyler opened up about the writing process of the song, telling Fantastic Man: "It’s still such a grey area with people, which is cool with me. Even though I’m considered loud and out there, I’m private, which is a weird dichotomy. The juxtaposition of loud and quiet is weird.”

"It’s a literal question and the thing about humans is we hate not having an answer. We hate not being in the know. So people will bulls--t answers, make s--t up, instead of being just, like, I don’t know. There are some things that are just unexplainable.”
