Oddly enough, Donald Trump isn’t the biggest fan of Hollywood, stating that it is a place filled with bias. Yet, given past evidence, the former President is always trying to get himself into films and TV shows, this includes the likes of ‘Home Alone 2’. Basically, Trump agreed for the film to shoot in his hotel, though under the condition that he would be in the film for a scene. The scene itself was almost cut out had it not been for a positive response by the crowd. Of course, in the recent screenings of the film, Trump’s part was completely taken out.

As for his cameo on ‘The Simpsons’, he wasn’t the voice behind his character, that honor goes to Dan Castellaneta. Though a few years ago, it was revealed that Trump himself contacted the show, trying to get a role. Al Jean, revealed this information during a Comic-Con Q&A back in 2017 when asked if they ever turned any celebs down… turns out Trump was on the list.

The Simpsons have a knack for predicting the future. This episode took place more than two decades ago back in mid-March of 2000. Who would’ve thought but they got Trump’s Presidency correct! So what was the motive behind the Trump as President episode? Dan Greaney revealed all with the Hollywood Reporter.

‘Bart To The Future’

The episode was entitled, ‘Bart To The Future’. The goal was to create havoc and later, have Lisa Simpson come in and try to salvage the situation under her Presidency. The decision to elect Trump on the show was a way of issuing a warning, “It was a warning to America. And that just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane."

Greaney admits that the show enjoyed characters like Trump, with over the top personalities, “I am tickled we are getting all this attention, but I don't think it's going to trigger this well-awaited re-evaluation of my episode that I was hoping for," he says, laughing. "The Simpsons has always kind of embraced the over-the-top side of American culture … and [Trump] is just the fulfillment of that."

Other Predictions

Along with the Trump episode, ‘The Simpsons’ has a scary way of predicting other events. Numerous others have taken place, including Lady Gaga flying over during a performance with cables, something she would do at the Super Bowl as well.

Of course, there are countless other examples.
