But there's so much more about her that a lot of fans probably have never heard, about her childhood and her rise to fame, among other things. Let's review 10 facts most people don't know about Cara Delevingne.

10 She Got A Job For Vogue When She Was Ten

Being one of the greatest fashion magazines in the world, it should be a big deal for anyone to be featured in Vogue. However, Cara had that opportunity before she even considered making modeling a career.

Apparently, she had the attitude and courage to make it since childhood. She posed for milliner Philip Treacy, and this is what he had to say about her: "Cara probably doesn’t remember but she was gorgeous then. I think that was the first time she was featured in print."

9 Her Connection To The Royal Family

Cara's family has always been connected to a lot of high society families, so it's not surprising that, even if it's not by blood, Cara is connected to British royalty. Her grandmother, Janie Sheffield, was a lady-in-waiting for Princess Margaret, and her grandfather, Sir Jocelyn Stevens, was chairman of English Heritage and friends with the Princess.

Also, her mother Pandora was a debutante, part of the society beauties of the 80s, and was friends with Sarah Ferguson in school. Alexandra Shulman, British Vogue editor, said that she's sure "that’s what gives her some of her confidence, and some of her spirit."

8 British Fashion Awards

Cara's modeling career has been extensive, and she's had many opportunities to show her talent. To prove this, she's won the British Fashion Award, Model of the Year in two years, once in 2012 and again in 2014.

In 2014, it was her older sister Poppy Delevingne, who is also a very successful model, who gave her the award. She was very proud of her little sister's accomplishment and she called her "the brightest star of my galaxy."

7 Her True Passion

Although she is a very successful model, Cara has said on multiple occasions that that's not her true passion. She's recently had a very good career in acting, and when she talked to The Guardian about her role in Carnival Row, this is what she had to say:

"(Modeling) isn’t fulfilling, it’s not! Especially when a lot of the time, you don’t get your voice heard. I didn’t in so many ways. Or maybe I didn’t have one, or I didn’t have the confidence to feel like I had one. I always wanted to be an actor. That was always something I knew since I was a kid. Dreams don’t always come true, but they did."

6 Her Music Career

Cara is a multitalented artist. Added to being a model and an actress, she can sing and play drums and guitar. In fact, she's had quite a music career, even if that hasn't been her main focus. She's played an acoustic version of Sonnentanz with singer Will Heard and she joined singer Rita Ora and Pharrell Williams on stage on two occasions.

About collaborating with Cara, Will Heard said: "I always enjoy working with Cara. She's great fun and that really comes through when we're in the studio."

5 She Wrote A Book

In 2017, Cara released her novel Mirror, Mirror. The book is a dark fiction about a group of teenagers overcoming difficult situations.

"I've always had this wonderful connection with teenagers, from when I started with social media," she said. "Just having girls message me being like, 'I'm really dealing with the pressure of my thoughts, my friends, eating disorders.' That kind of thing, where I was like, 'I have an opportunity to really be there for them and help.' You know, be a voice for teens and be honest as to how I suffered as a teenager."

4 Her Life After Modeling

Even though modeling was what brought her fame in the first place, Cara said she feels so much better since she left that world. She didn't feel comfortable doing that and it impacted negatively her self-esteem.

"Yes, your career is very important - but it's not the most important. Of course, I was proud of my accomplishments, but I wasn't genuinely happy," she said to the BBC. "I've opened my mind, and now I embrace new things with a childlike curiosity. I'm spending more time doing the stuff I love. And I've been able to do better work because of it."

3 Her Battle With Depression

Cara has been very open about her struggles with mental health and depression. She's had a tough time dealing with that since she was a teenager, and this is what she said about it:

"So many of my friends would say, ‘How can you feel like that?’ and, ‘But you’re so lucky,’ and I’d be like, I know, trust me, I know. I know I’m the luckiest girl in the world, I understand all of these things, and I wish I could appreciate it. There is just something dark within me I cannot seem to shake. Being a teenager can feel like you’re on a rollercoaster to hell, that’s what it honestly felt like to me – but you can get through it. Time moves on, feelings pass, it does get better."

2 She Has Her Own Fashion Collection

A few years ago, Cara designed a capsule collection for DKNY. According to Vogue, it's a mostly unisex 15-piece collection, and it includes beanies, T-shirts, and a leather motorcycle jacket with removable sleeves.

1 Her Sexual Identity

Cara recently broke up with her long-term girlfriend, Ashley Benson, and she talked about her sexuality and which label she feels she identifies most with. She said to Variety that she identifies as pansexual, which means she can feel attracted to a person, regardless of their gender.

"I always will remain, I think, pansexual. However one defines themselves, whether it’s ‘they’ or ‘he’ or ‘she,’ I fall in love with the person — and that’s that. I’m attracted to the person."
