It seems the only way Lindsay Lohan can land a headline these days is if she’s either talking bad about one of her many Hollywood frenemies, so what better way to generate some controversy than to make some not-so-nice comments about Zendaya?

The Euphoria actress had attended the 2019 Met Gala wearing a stunning Cinderella-inspired ball gown, which fit perfectly for the occasion’s Camp theme, but apparently, Lohan begged to differ when she slammed Zendaya by insinuating the latter had copied a similar dress worn by Claire Danes.

But that wasn’t all. Lohan had some other things to get off her chest, going on to insist that Zendaya’s version of the dress was nowhere near as chic, leaving many wondering why the redhead was being so harsh with her words.

Lindsay Lohan Targets Zendaya’s Met Gala Dress

Regardless of what people say, Zendaya’s dress, designed by Tommy Hilfiger, fit the Camp-themed Met Gala perfectly.

The princess ballgown lit up in the dark and came complete with a Fairy Godmother (her stylist, Law Roach), and to say that Zendaya looked stunning was without a doubt an understatement — she was definitely a standout from the star-studded crowd, that’s for sure.

The 24-year-old gushed about her dress after the event when she took to her Instagram page and posted a video of herself channeling Cinderella on the red carpet — and while seven million people went on to like the post, it was Lohan’s comment that really stood out.

The Mean Girls star came across a similar photo on Disney Lifestylers page, and LiLo definitely wasn’t holding back when she commented her thoughts on Zendaya’s gown.

"Claire Danes did that with @zacposen already,” she wrote.

“@clairedanes you wore this dress so beautifully. I don't know why someone thinks that they can be more chic. Ever.”

The fact that Lohan felt the need to make two separate comments about Zendaya’s Met Gala ballgown is troubling in itself, but perhaps not as troubling as to think that a celebrity who wasn’t invited to the event was talking bad about an A-list actress.

And fans agreed by slamming Lohan for her negative remarks on social media.

“Who does Lindsay Lohan think she is? Lol. Was she even invited to the Met Gala? Yeah, didn’t think so. She’s the last person to be talking down on anyone when she’s in and out of rehab every other week. Sit down girl,” one person vented on Twitter.

Another wrote, “Lindsay Lohan is a hot mess to think she can come for Zendaya’s stunning outfit. If you gotta talk smack about someone in the industry, you chose the wrong person because Zendaya looked bombed and is the sweetest girl with an actual career. Where’s yours?”

And if that wasn’t bad enough, a third continued, “It’s laughable to see Lindsay Lohan trying to come for Zendaya. I don’t remember Anna Wintour extending an invite for you to attend any prestigious event, which you probably haven’t done in a decade when you last had a hit film in the cinema. Leave Z alone.”

Then, in June 2019, just weeks after wowing reporters with her Hilfiger-designed dress, Zendaya addressed Lohan’s comments during an interview with The Daily Graph, who questioned her on what her thoughts were when she came across the uncalled-for remarks.

She gushed: "I didn't feel hurt by it and it didn't make me sad because I have no idea what that person is going through. Maybe in some strange way, that comment made them feel better that day. People are only negative because negativity is eating away at them.”

Class act.

While one would’ve expected Lohan to respond, there’s nothing she could’ve really said given that Zendaya is totally in the right — perhaps LiLo was just upset that she didn’t get to walk the Met Gala red carpet in a custom-designed ballgown.

It’s no secret that Lohan has been blackballed from Hollywood for well over 12 years now thanks to her endless run-ins with the law, several lengthy stays at rehab facilities, a former drug addiction, public feuds with her parents, financial problems, and that’s just to name a few.

Even though she’s only 34, she rarely gets booked for movie roles these days, and when she does manage to acquire a part, it’s usually for a low-budget motion picture, making it evidently clear that this former childhood star is no longer working with the big studios, after having gained a reputation for being difficult to work with.

Like Taylor Swift once said, “Haters gonna hate, hate, hate. I’m just gonna shake, shake shake.”
