Cameron Diaz is a retired American actress best known for her roles in There's Something About Mary, Charlie's Angels and Shrek. You might have wondered why you haven't seen her in any films lately, and that is because she quit acting, with her last acting role in 2014.

Along with acting, Diaz has also produced, modeled and written books. She is also known for her environmental activism. Known for dating high-profile celebrities, such as Matt Dillon, Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake, she has now settled down with Good Charlotte singer Benji Madden. The couple was first introduced by Nicole Richie, her now sister-in-law.

So what does an actor do when they retire from what they do for a living? Cameron has been busy with her personal life and other business endeavors that allow more time at home. This is Cameron Diaz's life since she quit acting.

10 Her Last Role

Diaz quit acting in 2014 after her last two roles, Sex Tape and Annie. In Sex Tape, she starred with Jason Segel, where they are a married couple who make a sex tape only to wake up the next morning and find it gone. It was not received well by critics, but it did well in the box-office. Diaz played Miss Hannigan in the film adaptation of Annie as her last acting role ever in 2014, in which she stared alongside Jamie Foxx and Rose Byrne. Although that was her last role, she didn't actually announce her retirement until years later.

9 Why She Quit Acting

After the release of Annie, Diaz decided to take a break from acting. In July 2017, she stated that she became tired of traveling for roles and confirmed her retirement from the career the following March. Two other big factors in her decision to retire were her husband and child. She wanted a more balanced lifestyle and to be able to stay home with her family. Who can blame her?
