It takes time to build a fortune, and no one may know that better than American actress, cookbook author, comedian and overall icon Betty White. From The Betty White Show to Golden Girls to Toy Story 4, the 98 year-old superstar has had an entire lifetime to gain a collection of Emmy awards in addition to three marriages. As if all her success weren’t enough, White has also used her many years in Hollywood to amass a fortune worth $75 million.
While White has been notoriously open with the public about her sex life and other romantic interests, the Golden Girl has kept her spending habits to herself, leaving fans to wonder how, exactly, the celebrity has chosen to spend her fortune.
We have done a little digging into Betty White’s financial choices to help fans understand how America’s spiciest old lady uses her money.
Vodka And Hotdogs
While White clearly has the budget to be dining on champagne and oysters, she has made it clear that her tastes are actually quite simple. In a 2020 interview with Closer Weekly, the actress opened up about her daily life and her health in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the interview, White loves nothing more than classic, American snack foods: “When she’s at home, the Golden Girls alum likes to enjoy her favorite snack ‘hot dogs and French fries,’ and sip on a ‘vodka martini’ in her living room.”
If White isn’t purchasing pricey bites, the rest of her meals are even less expensive. The actress went so far as to reveal to the outlet that she enjoys canned foods. “Sometimes, she even goes to the kitchen to ‘whip up a grilled cheese sandwich,’ and Betty will accompany that with a nice ‘can of tomato soup,’” the outlet published.
California Dreaming
If Betty’s diet isn’t burning through her bank account of millions, her house could definitely be doing the trick. In her Kinetic Content TV special titled Betty’s Happy Hour, White gives fans a tour of her California mansion, and the results are spectacular.
In a one minute video posted to Kinetic Content TV’s official YouTube channel in August 2017, the actress parodies the MTV show Cribs and shows off her home to viewers. “I’m Betty White. Welcome to my crib,” says the actress, smiling.
While the actress is clearly intending to be comical, she actually shows off some beautiful parts of her house. Her kitchen is gorgeous, with a fridge that blends seamlessly into the cabinetry and granite countertops. White also boasts two, large stainless steel ovens stacked one above the other.
Splashing Around
White’s kitchen isn’t the only point of interest in her California home. The actress also has a lovely outdoor deck and pool area, which she also features in another excerpt from Betty’s Happy Hour, aptly titled “Betty White Has No Shortage Of Pool Boys.”
The video shows that her deck compliments the deep blue water of her large pool. Beside the swimming pool is a hot tub and a warm water waterfall.
