Most celebrities do their best not to slander other famous people, even when they go through controversy. Most of the time, this is because they are trying to remove themselves from any backlash or even involve themselves in a scandal. These kinds of repercussions can be a real thing in the world of Hollywood. Perhaps this is one of the reasons Meryl Streep spent so many years praising Harvey Weinstein.

While there's no shortage of hypocritical and questionable positions famous people have taken over the years, some have come right out and said how they really felt about controversial public figures. And you don't get much more controversial than O.J. Simpson. While OJ was found not guilty 25 years ago for the double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and waiter Ron Goldman, many out there still believe he's anything but innocent. Such people include radio legend, Howard Stern.

And like most topics, Howard is completely unafraid to let the world know exactly what he thinks of OJ Simpson...

OJ Has Given Howard A Lot Of Content

Given that Howard Stern has made a good chunk of his absurdly massive net worth by giving his opinion, it makes sense that he wouldn't shy away from talking about OJ Simpson. Even today, Howard loves to talk about OJ and straight-up make fun of him. But things were different between them in the early 1990s.

Before he was accused and put on trial for murder, Howard even interviewed him on his show. During the 1993 interview, Howard asked a lot about OJ's athletic and acting career, as well as his love life. On top of this, Howard even tried to set him up with his longtime co-host and best friend, Robin Quivers.

While Robin has dated another majorly controversial celebrity, OJ was largely seen as a major catch at the time of the interview. So, as far as Howard was concerned, he was trying to get Robin in with a hunky, successful, and beloved public figure. A little over a year later, however, things changed drastically.

Like everyone else, Howard, Robin, and the rest of the crew on The Howard Stern Show covered the famous OJ car chase as well as the murder trial. Even back then, Howard believed that OJ was guilty of what he was accused of. But a couple of years later, OJ was rarely mentioned on The Howard Stern Show.

That is until OJ joined Twitter...

Howard And OJ's Twitter War And Ron Goldman's Sister

After OJ was released from prison (for unrelated charges), Howard maintained OJ's guilt in the Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman case. Shortly after his release, according to Global News, OJ joined Twitter. Now, this wouldn't be that big of a deal if OJ didn't seemingly treat the horrific accusations against him as flippantly as he has on his feed.

Or as he stated in his first video, "I have some gettin' even to do."

For what felt like a solid year, Howard made comedic bit after comedic bit out of some of the most ridiculous content on OJ's Twitter feed. This included his catchphrases, his odd chuckling, and the fact that he wished Nicole Brown Simpson's late mother well.

Howard and Robin both perceived OJ's Twitter feed as overly cavalier and downright insensitive. Of course, it made for great content on their show. Still, Howard has taken some very public stands against OJ's presence on the social media platform.

In 2019, Howard invited Kim Goldman, the sister of Ron Goldman, onto his show. The two spoke about a lot of things, but, of course, the topic of OJ Simpson's Twitter feed came up.

"I really got triggered because of O.J.’s Twitter feed," Howard Stern said to Kim. "When someone kills your brother and they’re on the golf course and they’re sitting out there in their golf cart, living the life that most people don’t get to live … it’s got to be maddening."

"I think when [OJ], you know, the 'yours truly' and the laughing and the chuckling about everything... that part is really hard to stomach," Kim Goldman responded. "I look at him and think 'Rage. Murderer. Domestic violence abuser.' It's just hard for me to see him living the good life."

This is when Howard stated that he wishes that Twitter would through OJ Simpson off of their platform.

"What would be the grounds, Howard?" Robin Quivers asked him.

"I don't need grounds I own Twitter," Howard joked. "Just to save [Kim] the grief of seeing his face. By the way, he should use his own head and lay low. If you get away with something like this... lay low, my man!"

Shortly after Howard made these comments, OJ had a response video on his Twitter. Although he didn't mention Howard by name, it was pretty clear who he was talking about.

"Today, I was told that this individual, let’s call him Person A, stated that he thought Person B should not have a right to public expression," OJ said on his Twitter. "What’s interesting about that is Person B years ago helped fight for Person A’s right for freedom of expression, public expression."

While OJ was clearly referring to the fact he publically defended Howard in the 1990s when he was under attack from the FCC for his 'inappropriate' humor on the radio. But, it's safe to say that's not exactly the same thing as being accused of murder, kidnapping, and a host of other crimes.
