Piers Morgan is a man who does not mince his words. His alpha energy tends to shoot through the roof nine times out of ten, and each of those times, he lands himself in trouble. Legend has it that, once upon a time, Morgan and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, were on friendly terms. Markle and Morgan met at a pub back in 2016, when Markle was still part of the main cast of Suits.

At their first meeting, Morgan and Markle ‘got on brilliantly’. Turns out the meeting wasn’t so brilliant on Markle’s part, and soon enough, Morgan was ghosted. Since then, he became the ghost from Markle’s past, attacking her at every juncture, the height of which was an on-air confrontation in March that led him to exit Good Morning Britain. Here is what Morgan has been up to since:

10 Promoting His Book, ‘Wake Up’

In October of 2020, Morgan published a book titled Wake Up, which according to The Guardian, is ‘A fast, entertaining read.’ Morgan asserts that the ‘lberal’ war on free speech is more dangerous than Covid-19, and wrote the book to prove it. Only weeks after his exit, Morgan’s book did extremely well in the Amazon chart, peaking at the second position, and eventually making it to number one.

9 Addressing Cancel Culture

While Morgan’s book was released in 2020, he agrees that a section that addresses cancel culture aged like wine, if his situation with Markle is anything to go by. Morgan, through the excerpt, revealed that he was a cancel culture survivor, whose bosses did not bow to the mob. “ This entry from my book aged like corked Liebfraumilch.” Morgan wrote, accompanying his sentiments with a laugh emoji.

8 Defending His Friend, Sharon Osbourne

When Piers Morgan quit Good Morning Britain and caused quite the stir, he wasn’t the only one on the receiving end of audience’ wrath. Morgan’s friend, Sharon Osbourne had some woes of her own at The Talk, where she was a co-host. Just like Morgan, Osbourne had a heated conversation with Sheryl Underwood that eventually let to her exiting the show.

7 Celebrating His 56th Birthday

On the 30th of March, Morgan turned 56, and he celebrated his birthday, lockdown style. This marked the second time Morgan was celebrating a birthday in lockdown. He did so with some wine, a couple of bottles of beer, and a cake that bore the title of his book, Wake Up. In his caption, Morgan shared how relieved he was that he didn’t need to worry about doing a breakfast show with a hangover.

6 Appreciating His Fans

Morgan has fans and haters in equal measure. Seemingly, there is no in between. You either love or hate him. Those who love him, love him hard, and those who hate him, hate him equally hard. After his exit, Morgan took to Instagram to address everyone who sent him a card, writing, “…So many incredibly kind and touching letters and cards. I’ll get around to replying them all, but for now, just know it means a great deal to me to have so much support.”

5 Mourning Prince Phillip

Morgan’s allegiance to the palace is not a secret. Time and again, his love for the Queen and her family has been documented. So, when Prince Phillip passed away in April, Morgan was amongst those who upheld his legacy. “ A truly great Briton, who dedicated his life to selfless public duty and was an absolute rock of devoted support to Her Majesty.” Morgan wrote.

4 Standing By The Queen

The pandemic came with its portion of difficulty, and no one, not even Her Majesty, could escape the aftermath as she bid goodbye to a love she had known for 73 years. Morgan shared a heartbreaking picture of the Queen seated alone, dressed in all black. “ Has there have been a more heart-breaking picture of The Queen?” Morgan asked.

3 Hanging Out With His Celebrity Friends

While he is on the wrongs side of Meghan Markle’s books, Morgan does have other celebrity friend that he likes to catch up with. The pandemic has made it hard, as before, he’d have the best shots, like being sandwiched between Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria and Sophia Vergara. Back in April, he caught up with UFC Champion Conor McGregor at a golf course and took one shot for the gram.

2 Shining Light On A Hero, Jimi

As much as Morgan likes his speech uncensored, he is justified because sometimes he uses his platform for good. When 20-year-old Folajimi Olubunmi Adewole and his friends were walking near London Bridge late on a Saturday Night, they responded to a cry of help by a woman who seemed to be drowning in the River Thames. The rescue mission saw Jimi lose his life in the process, and Morgan used his Instagram to celebrate the hero.

1 Plotting World Domination

It would be inappropriate to not end this by Morgan himself telling us what he’s been doing, right? So, for all of us who are wondering what Morgan’s next move is, besides indulging in his much-loved breakfast and enjoying fine wine, he’s likely to be found plotting world domination. This is something he does while seated on deckchairs overlooking a lake.
