Sadly, Howard and his family had to say goodbye to their beloved dog, a Collie named Cooper, in April 2021. “Here I am with my new pup 13 years ago. Cooper! Today he passed peacefully. He grew up to be an outstanding part of our family who will be missed,” Howard captioned the photo on Instagram. He has one other dog, a Great Pyrenees named Puddin.

6 'Thirteen Lives'

While in Australia, Howard was directing the upcoming biographical survival drama film, Thirteen Lives. The film stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton. The drama movie shows the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue that saw a junior football team and their coach trapped in a cave for a period of 18 days. They began filming in late March in Australia and they will also film in Thailand.

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel first aired on Netflix in February 2021. It is a docu-series that chronicles the death of Elisa Lam at the Cecil Hotel.
