While they only tied the knot back in June 2017, Kenya Moore and Marc Daly’s relationship has been anything but easy. The pair decided to call it quits and file for divorce just two years later as the former beauty pageant became tired of Marc not pulling his weight in their marriage and opting to spend more time in New York City than to be with her and their daughter, Brooklyn, who was born in November 2018.

Kenya also didn’t appreciate the way her estranged husband would speak to her — particularly when cameras were rolling for Real Housewives of Atlanta. While fans weren’t too sure of what to make of Marc at first, when he started making some not-so-nice comments about Kenya on the show, viewers were immediately turned off and stressed the reality star to dump her man.

Since their divorce filing, both Kenya and Marc have gone back and forth on whether to move ahead with the process, but now that over a year has passed since their split was announced, where does their relationship stand and why didn’t they have a prenup before tying the knot?

Will Kenya Moore Divorce Marc Daly?

A year after their marriage, Kenya revealed that she didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement with Marc because he supposedly told her that there wouldn’t be a wedding otherwise.

The businessman stressed that if he plans to spend the rest of his life with Kenya — and vice versa — there should be no reason to have a prenup in place unless there was a doubt in either of their minds that the marriage could potentially collapse somewhere down the line.

Well, it seems as if Kenya is a psychic because she wanted a prenup just to be sure, and though she didn’t pull through with the thought out of respect for her man, the relationship began to crumble a year after the pair said their “I dos,” which technically meant that having a prenup would’ve saved a lot of hassle on her end.

During an episode of RHOA in 2019, Kenya told Kandi Burruss and Cynthia Bailey, “We all feel like we’re going to be together forever, right? And to me, a prenup is just like insurance."

“You never want to use it but you want to have it just in case,” she explained. “I feel like, I would rather us work out what is going to happen when we’re in a good place, rather than when you’re in a bad place and you turn into somebody that I don’t know.”

“You know, Marc didn’t want a prenup. We don’t have one. Like, he wouldn’t even have the conversation,” she continued, admitting that there wouldn’t have been a wedding if he had been pressed to sign the agreement.

Kandi argued she was adamant that her husband Todd Tucker was to sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding in 2014 because she wasn’t going to lose all that she’s worked for in her life, with an impressive $30 million to her fortune.

And that doesn’t mean that the Xscape singer isn’t head over heels in love with the TV producer, but securing her assets in case the marriage doesn’t work out isn’t a bad decision by any means.

Marc, on the other hand, saw things differently, revealing, “We never had a discussion about [a] prenup because for me, you bring up prenup to me, it’s over. I’m not going to marry someone who has a prenup. If you’re with me, you’re all the way with me or you’re not with me.”

In the 13th series of RHOA, which premiered in late 2020, Kenya told her lawyers that she didn’t know where her divorce with Marc was heading because “right now, we haven’t discussed anything about where our relationship is going.”

While they were still in close contact, most of their conversations would be centered around their daughter and her needs, so any talks about their divorce had been put on halt for the time being.

In March 2021, Kenya also cleared up a rumor that Marc had requested alimony support from the supposed love of his life, to which she responded in a tweet, writing, “For the record: Marc withdrew the divorce petition the next day and said that he was not asking for alimony in the filing and that we misinterpreted NY law. There has been no further divorce action to date. This scene was taped months ago.”

Kenya can currently be seen on the latest series of RHOA, which airs Sundays on Bravo. She's rumored to be worth $3.5 million.
