It has been revealed that Tiger King's reptile dealer, Jeff Johnson has committed suicide.

Jeff Johnson's Tiger King Involvement

Jeff Johnson was one of the very first characters to be introduced on the Tiger King, and in fact, he was spotted on the series as early as episode 4, when the drama surrounding the big cats and was just starting to unravel.

He and Joe Exotic were said to have been friends early on, and only faced a strain in their relationship when Jeff Lowe joined the crew. Although his time on the show was short, it was both memorable and critically important to the series. It was in fact Jeff Johnson that not only revealed, but also explained the reason there was so much tension between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.

This definition opened up one of the most explosive, controversial plot lines that fans had ever come across.

The Details Surrounding Jeff Johnson's Tragic Suicide

Without notice, and without warning, Jeff Johnson took his own life on September 8th of this year. The details surrounding this tragedy are now starting to emerge, as those closest to him struggle to cope with this devastating loss.

The Oklahoma Police have confirmed that Jeff Johnson took his own life in front of his wife, in the most shocking manner. Jeff and his wife were arguing in the garage, during which time he picked up a gun and pointed it at his own head. In a fit of apparent anger, he pulled the trigger. When officers arrived at the scene, Jeff still had a pulse, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival in the hospital.

His children were home at the time of the incident.
