Tim Allen's been blasting his controversial views to infinity and beyond, and fans are asking him to put the phone down.

Last night in an unprompted rant about communism, this '90s TV star turned conservative B-lister Tweeted some confusing commentary with very sloppy mistakes. Here's what went down.

Tim Tries to Troll His Followers

Tim Allen has been consistent in his support of conservative policies for decades now, even lending his voice to a commercial for a Republican candidate for US Senate earlier this year. It's no secret that his political opinions deviate from some of the progressive ones we find in Hollywood.

In what at first seemed like an attempt to surprise people at how progressive he can be, Tim Tweeted a quote that he called an "honest progressive position." The position mentions "abolition of child labor" as one of its demands (which seems like a no brainer in 2020?) so fans initially commented with their support.

Then Tim made his own 'gotcha' moment by revealing that the quote was actually from Karl Marx's 'Communist Manifesto,' suggesting that the Democratic people who liked the Tweet were equal to radical communists. Unfortunately he misspelled 'Karl':

Tim's sarcasm made it seem like he actually supported the idea of child labor from his first Tweet, which straight up confused his followers.

"Are you implying the abolition of child labor is bad Tim?" asked @__alexwood.

"Yes, Democrats are against child labor, that is true," added @RealSwoletariat.

"That evil Karl Marx, trying to get rid of our precious child labour!" joked @Spearhalfoc.

He Backpedalled with More Confusing Tweets

While Tim took the time to correct his spelling of Karl Marx's name, he didn't change his initial stance (that the first Tweet contained bad/unrealistic ideas). In his last Tweet, he acknowledged that a quote about child labor probably isn't the most appropriate thing to apply to current politics.

Its most-liked replies point out that Tim might be confused about what Karl Marx actually stood for.

With 6.4K likes (more than Tim earned on the Tweet itself) @rhicrtr explained it like this: "Marx: 'Workers under these horrible conditions should form unions and abolish child labour.' Tim Allen: 'He wouldn't think that if he saw how workers formed unions and abolished child labour.'"

Others reminded Tim that he has more in common with Marx than he seems to think.

"In his day, Karl Marx was a supporter of the Republican Party," shared @QC_Bounce. It sounds unlikely but it's true, as outlined in this article from The Washington Post.

There's also no denying their resemblance, especially this time of year. Sorry, Tim!
