Tom Hardy Writes Heartbreaking Letter About His Late Dog Woodstock

Actor Tom Hardy has written a heartbreaking letter about his beloved dog, Woodstock, who passed away earlier this week. Get those tissues ready because his letter is a tearjerker and you are going to them.

Dogs really are mans best friend and no one knows that better than Hardy. He lost his best pal, a loving member of his family this week and now he is sharing with his fans just how much the pooch meant to him.

“I don’t normally speak out about family and friends but this is an unusual circumstance. Woody affected so many people in his own right so with great respect to his autonomy and as a familiar friendly face to many of you, it is with great great sadness a heavy heart that I inform you that after a very hard and short 6 month battle with an aggressive polymyositis Woody passed away, two days ago. He was only Age 6.” He wrote in a message that appeared on social media. A rep for the actor has confirmed that it was actually written by Hardy (that we slightly edited).

He went on to share how the loss is affecting him and his family, while praising his best friend.

“We at home are devastated by his loss. I am ultimately grateful for his loyal companionship and love and it is of some great comfort that he is no longer suffering. Above all, I am completely gutted. The world for me was a better place with him in it and by my side. To the bestest friend ever. To me and to a family who loved him beyond words and whom he loved, without doubt, more than I have ever known. Woody was the bestest of journey companions we ever could dream of having. Our souls intertwined forever.” Hardy wrote.

Woodstock wasn’t just the best pal to Hardy but to his wife Charlotte as well. When she was pregnant, the actor revealed that the Labrador mix fiercely guarded her. The dog was a constant presence with Hardy on film sets and red carpets.

There is nothing like losing a pet. Tom Hardy has written a heartfelt letter to his beloved Woodstock. His words express how so many feel about their animals. RIP Woodstock.
