Yes... He was actually in Star Wars... Crazy, right?

Tom Hardy is sort of Hollywood's enigma. He has a pretty impressive resume built by dynamic roles but he's not exactly on the cusp of stardom like Brad Pitt or Leonardo DiCaprio. Yet he's labeled as one of Hollywood's hardest-working actors.

Hardy is hard to figure out because he's private. We don't know much about how he avoids being pigeon-holed into any one genre or type of role, but he seems to have a skill at choosing them and it's always interesting to see what he goes for next.

He likes to transform into his characters almost to the point of being unrecognizable. But one of those unrecognizable roles, which only turned out to be a cameo, actually ended up being his highest-grossing film and earned him a credit in one of the biggest franchises in the world.

It turns out the cameo never even made it into the movie, but it did help Hardy's net worth.

Hardy's Highest Earning Film Isn't What You Think It Is

Throughout his career, Hardy has become one of the best adaptable actors in Hollywood. When he becomes his characters, he's either bulking up for Venom, Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, and Mad Max or putting on some extra pounds to play Al Capone.

What a lot of people might not know is that Hardy actually did a cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as a Stormtrooper, a role which probably would have piqued Hardy's interest not only because it was his chance of being in Star Wars but because being a Stormtrooper means transforming yourself.

There have been a lot of cameos in the recent trilogy of Star Wars, most of them being Stormtroopers, including Daniel Craig's cameo in Force Awakens. The difference with Hardy's cameo was the fact that his scene was cut out and he still got the credit.

The cut scene featured Hardy's Stormtrooper interacting with John Boyega's Finn, Rose played by Kelly Marie Tran, and Benicio Del Toro playing DJ, who were in an elevator together on the First Order's Supremacy. Hardy's character recognizes Finn, who's wearing First Order garb and congratulates him on his 'promotion' with a smack on the butt.

No doubt filmmakers didn't think the scene was crucial enough to appear during the high stakes mission Finn and the others were performing.

Even though the scene was cut out of the film, it still remains on his resume and technically on top of the list of his highest-grossing films. Which of course contributes to his $30 million net worth.

If it seems strange to count a film that he was cut from in with his overall net worth, just take a look at the list, Who's the Richest Star of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'?

On the list aren't just the key players of the film. In fact, actors like Daisy Ridley and John Boyega actually rank further back on the list, while the legacy players like Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill sit at six and eight.

What's interesting is that they count everybody who starred in the film, including the actors who had cameos. Director, Edgar Wright, who also had a cameo playing a Resistance Trooper, sits on the list at the tenth richest, and included on their list is Hardy, who sits on the third richest.

So, it seems Hardy is considered a part of the film, no matter how small his part was. You might even be able to see his scene, which is rumored to appear in the Blu-ray version of the movie.

Of course, we don't know exactly how much Hardy was paid for the cut cameo but at least he can say it's his highest-grossing film.

Hardy Has An Impressive Networth Without His Star Wars Credit

Despite technically being in Star Wars, Hardy does just fine with the films he actually appears in and makes an impressive amount doing them. Not only has he played crucial roles in The Dark Knight Rises, The Revenant, and Dunkirk, but he's also played memorable roles in two successful television shows, Peaky Blinders and Taboo, where he was the main star, co-creator, and executive producer.

When his film Venom came out it was reported that he made $7 million for it, and considering the number of successful films he's done, it's no surprise he's worth a lot. Not only does he work on big-budget films and television series, but he has also worked on stage productions and racked up some impressive awards and nominations.

But the moral of the story is: do a Star Wars film at all costs, even if your character is small or cut from the movie. It just might boost your net worth.
