Tom Holland has quickly become one of Marvel fans’ favorite actors to helm the role of Spider-Man, having not only starred in a handful of the studio’s spin-off films, including Infinity War and Endgame but also grossing billions of dollars with the franchise he plays the lead role in.

The 2019 release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, for example, made a whopping $1.1 billion worldwide, showing clear signs that fans had clearly taken a liking to the British heartthrob, with a third movie starring Holland already in the works — so it’s only fair that Holland was going to start earning the big bucks for his work sooner rather than later.

Updated on January 17, 2022, by Marissa Romero: Tom Holland was already well on his way to becoming the most popular Spider-Man before the latest installment's release in December 2021. However, now that Spider-Man: No Way Home has completely taken over the box office, it's clear Tom Holland's name will forever be remembered as Spider-Man. Within the first two weeks of being released, No Way Home earned an amazing $1 billion, making it the first "pandemic-era movie to cross $1 billion worldwide," according to Variety. And if that wasn't enough of a success, the film is also on its way to becoming "the fourth highest-grossing domestic film of all time."

In terms of revenue, Spider-Man: No Way Home has now exceeded Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Titanic. It could be said that all of this great success couldn't have been made possible without Tom Holland behind the webbed mask.

How Much Has Tom Holland Been Paid Playing Spider-Man?

Tom Holland first played Spider-Man after landing a short role in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War — it was the first time that fans were introduced to the actor after the studio decided to replace Andrew Garfield, who previously played Peter Parker in the franchise.

For his stint in the film, Holland earned $250,000, and considering that his role in the movie was relatively short, we’d say he made a substantial amount for what could’ve been no more than a day’s worth of work.

The following year, the 24-year-old made his anticipated debut helming his first Spider-Man title, Homecoming, for which he was paid $500,000, which was a significant increase from his first big paycheck from Marvel Studios, but trust and believe that those numbers were only going to increase moving forward.

It should also be noted that Homecoming made almost $900 million at the box office, so casting directors didn’t have to worry about whether or not fans were feeling the new Spider-Man because tickets sales were stronger than they were for its predecessor, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which had only made $708 million worldwide.

Before filming commenced for his first major project for Marvel, Tom Holland revealed that the studio had sent him to an American school for a few days to acquire the mannerism and accent of students, which subsequently helped him channel the character of Peter Parker.

He told Collider in 2018, “Marvel actually sent me to a school in the Bronx where I had a fake name and I put on an accent, and I went for like three days. I basically had to go to this science school and blend in with all the kids, and some of the teachers didn’t even know.

“It was a science school, and I am in no way a science student (laughter). Some of the teachers would call me up in front of the class and try to get me to do science equations and stuff, it was so embarrassing.”

He concluded, “But it was actually really informative because schools in London are so different. I would go to school every day in a suit and tie, with just boys. To be in a school where you can be free and let loose, and be with girls, it was so different. Like so different. But yeah, it was a really great experience.”

No word on whether the three-day school runs were included in his $500,000 salary, but considering that it was done in preparation for his role in one of the biggest Marvel flicks, fans would have been furious if Holland was portraying his character with a British accent.

So it’s fair to assume his salary included the early morning calls at an American school.

Some reports claim he also earned a contractual bonus after the film’s performance at the box office, which would have increased his pay to $1.5 million.

For 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, Holland is estimated to have earned an impressive $4 million, which was another big pay rise for the talented actor, though his salaries for his involvement in Endgame and Infinity War have not been disclosed.

Tom Holland's salary for the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home is rumored to have been around $10 million, a substantial increase from the previous installment. In his career as a whole, Tom Holland is easily set to increase his asking price far greater from what he previously made.

With all this money coming in, it’s no surprise how Tom Holland’s net worth has skyrocketed to $18 million — and one thing that’s for sure is that those numbers are only going to increase judging by the endless Marvel projects he could potentially have in the pipeline.

Tom Holland's Future With Marvel And Spider-Man

In July 2020, it was reported that the London native was in talks with Disney and Sony to sign a deal for a six-movie deal, which means he would reprise his famous role for another six motion pictures, including any spin-offs that could be in the works down the line. However, many believed Spider-Man: No Way Home was always meant to wrap up Tom Holland's time as Spider-Man. But then that cliffhanger ending was enough to make fans think another Tom Holland flick is on its way, and the Spider-Man producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal have also dropped a few hints that Holland's story will continue, according to Seventeen.

As rumors continue to run rampant on whether Spider-Man: No Way Home was Tom Holland's last Spider-Man film or not, Tom Holland has attempted to explain his contract with Marvel and Sony in easier terms. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Holland explained, "The new deal that was struck up was this understanding between the two studios that should Marvel want me to appear in one of their movies, then it would be an open conversation. I don’t think it’s as black and white as, 'I have a three-picture deal with Marvel and a three-picture deal with Sony.' It’s just this open conversation and open dialogue between Mr. [Bob] Iger [Walt Disney Co. executive chairman] and Mr. [Tom] Rothman [chairman of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group]."

In an interview with Fandango, Amy Pascal shared big information. "This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel,” she said. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."
