Recently, the controversial figure was hit with a series of sexual abuse allegations by his former fiance, a fellow actor, and even an indie rock band frontwoman who shared the stage with him years ago. So, without further ado, here's a look back at some of the most controversial things Marilyn Manson has ever done, from the lightest to the worst.

10 His Questionable Band Name

Let's start with the band name. Warner and his longtime friends formed the band by combining two juxtaposing names: a sex symbol (Marilyn Monroe) and a cult leader (Charles Manson). His friend and the band's guitarist, Scott Putesky, chose his stage name "Daisy Berkowitz" from Dukes of Hazzard's Daisy Duke and Berkowitz from serial killer David Berkowitz.

9 When He Was Indirectly Involved In The Columbine Tragedy

Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, two mass murderers behind the 1999 Columbine High School massacre, hailed Marilyn Manson and his band as their musical heroes. Media reports believed that the two were influenced the entertainment they consumed from video games and heavy metal music.

Marilyn Manson is a known friend of Anton Szandor LaVey from the Church of Satan. LaVey was a fellow musician and an occultist who believed in LaVeyan Satanism before his death in 1997. Although Mason later downplayed his friendship with LaVey after his death, the two shared the same belief.

6 When He Ate A Bible On Stage

As the title of the song suggests, "Antichrist Superstar," from Mason's 1996 album of the same name, is about Manson's rise as an antichrist despite his Christian upbringing. During one of his on-stage performances of the song, Manson tore pages from the Bible and ate it in front of the crowds.

5 When He Urinated On Stage

According to Rolling Stone, Manson was once arrested in 1994 after his Florida show in Jacksonville for urinating on the crowd. The police arrested him for violating the "Adult Entertainment Code." Manson then spent a night in jail to pass a psych evaluation process before being released the next day.

4 When He Dedicated His Song To Paris Jackson

Just a day after then-15-year-old Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris Jackson, allegedly harmed herself because she wasn't allowed to attend Marilyn Manson's concert, the singer simulated the act and dedicated "Disposable Teens" to her. Paris was later admitted to the hospital to treat her wounds.

During one of his Detroit shows in 2001, Manson, who was only wearing leather underwear and pantyhose, grabbed a security guard by the neck, wrapped his legs around the man and got uncomfortably and inappropriately close to him. Manson was later charged with sexual assault and battery, although a judge later dismissed the latter. He paid $4,000 in fines.

2 When He Was Accused Of Sexual Abuse And Racist Remarks

In 2018, actress Charlyne Yi accused the singer of making racial remarks and inappropriate sexual catcalls on the set of House. According to Yi, Manson "harassed about every woman" and called her "a China man."

On February 1, Evan Rachel Wood accused Manson of "horrifically abusing" her for years and "grooming" her when she was a teenager. Ten more women, including the frontwoman of indie rock band Wolf Alice, Ellie Rowsell, stood up and made a series of allegations against the singer under the same tone. Although Manson has vehemently denied them, his manager of 25 years and his artistry agency dropped him.
