Henry Cavill is calling out fans who have made speculations about his private life and confessed his love for his current girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso.

The Enola Holmes actor felt the need to take to Instagram and clarify that he is “very happy” in his relationship and people shouldn’t make “negative assumptions” about his private life.

"I couldn't help but notice that there has been some social animosity of late. It's becoming increasingly prevalent on my feed,” he wrote in the caption. 

"Now, while I do appreciate the passion and support by those very people who are 'speculating,' It has come to such a point that I needed to say something, which in itself, is a bad thing,” he continued.

Cavill didn’t specify the comments made in particular, but wanted to call attention to the harm negative assumptions can do to a person.

"I know it can be fun to speculate, to gossip, and to dive into our own personal echo chambers on the internet, but your 'passion' is misplaced,” he continued. “It causes harm to the people I care about most.”

He ended the statement by saying, "Even your most conservative of negative assumptions about both my personal and professional life just isn't true. Let's embrace this age of social enlightenment together, and move forward with positivity."

After Cavill issued the response on social media, fans on Twitter began discussing the controversy, and a few even sought to continue it, despite Cavill's pleas Even though many of the comments about his private life were not completely negative, there were a few fans that simply didn’t want to believe that Cavill is no longer available.

Fans of the actor argued that the actor was “bullied” by these consistent comments into addressing his private life, which is something he shouldn't have to do, because he is free to date anyone.

Last month, the Man of Steel actor made his relationship public Viscuso public by posting a photo of the two on Instagram playing chess in a dimmed room setting.

“This is me looking quietly confident shortly before my beautiful and brilliant love Natalie, destroys me at chess,” the caption read.

Prior to the post, the two were spotted holding hands as they took Cavill’s dog named Kal for a walk in London, which sparked relationship rumors.

Cavill recently wrapped production on the highly anticipated second season of the Netflix fantasy drama, The Witcher, which experienced heavy production delays due to the pandemic.
