Marvel's Shang Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings is the first Marvel movie to be released after Black Widow. It tells the origin story of Shang-Chi, a Kung-fu master.

Some are questioning whether it is the greatest Marvel origin story since Iron Man and Twitter fans had their say in the matter. However, it seems as though they were split in their opinions.

Some thought the movie was even better than Iron Man.

Others thought it was rather boring and full of cliches.

Some even mentioned Awkwafina’s comedic appearance.

Other movie watchers expressed their concern over going to watch the movie in theatres while there’s still a pandemic. The film is the first Marvel movie to be released solely in theatres since the pandemic.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings is the first Asian-focused superhero movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film stars Simu Liu, who played Jung Kim on Kim's Convenience, in his first big screen role. The film also features Awkwafina and Tony Leung Chiu-wai, the latter of whom was named one of Asia’s greatest actors of all time.This is a big leap for the franchise in terms of representation, similar to Black Panther (a film about the MCU’s first Black hero).

Many Twitter users took notice of this fact and celebrated the representation.

Marvel officially began its MCU in 2008 with the release of Iron Man. Since then, the studio has dominated box offices everywhere. Every year, except 2020, at least one Marvel movie has been on the top 10 worldwide box office list. Shang-Chi is billed to be no exception to Marvel’s trend. The film is expected to draw in millions of dollars over its opening weekend.

Currently, the only way to watch Shang-Chi is in theatres, but the film should be coming to Disney+ after it’s theatrical rollout.
