Artist Nicki Minaj is receiving love from Twitter following her and husband Kenneth Petty's latest lawsuit.

Petty was accused of a 1994 sexual assault by victim Jennifer Hough when she was sixteen years old. Hough is now suing him and Minaj for intimidation regarding her case, and has accused Minaj of reaching out to her repeatedly to get her to release a statement denying the sexual assault had ever happened.

Some fans on Twitter are sticking by Minaj's side throughout this entire issue, and have also used this time to talk about Petty and why his actions have affected her and his victims. Some say that Minaj deserves a better spouse than him, and that their relationship will ruin her image.

Although her fans on Twitter have continued to stay by her side after her husband's sexual assault accusations, Twitter has also begun fill with comments from users who are now against Minaj and have since been ashamed of her actions throughout this matter.

Petty became part of the Megan's Law database in 2020 after stating that he was not registered as a sex offender in California. The singer's husband was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1995 while he lived in New York. Following his conviction, he served four years in prison, and was required to register as a sex offender in that state, and others that he chooses to live in. He was released after serving his sentence.

However, soon afterward, he shot and killed a man in a gang-related shooting in 2002, and was charged with manslaughter in 2006. After serving seven years in prison, he was on supervised release until 2018, shortly before reconnecting with Minaj.
