Twitter is that magical place where a Miami stripper bearing an eerie resemblance to Parks and Rec star Amy Poehler becomes the topic of the day.

A woman known as Britney Simmons has acquired a certain notoriety after her bizarre brawl with police officers went viral.

Fans Want Amy Poehler To Impersonate A Stripper On SNL Next

According to an article by satirical fake news website World News Daily Report, police were called to apprehend Simmons, who was allegedly intoxicated and behaving erratically. But the stripper decided to resist arrest in an unusual fashion, as the report claims that she ejected her vaginal fluids towards the police officers.

This apparently left "two officers injured and three temporarily blinded." The report also states that if Simmons is convicted of aggravated assault with a "deadly weapon" against five police officers, legal experts believe Simmons could face up to 1,036 years in jail.

As it is often the case on Twitter, the best part of this story are, of course, the comments.

“SNL sending a Covid test to Amy Poehler as we speak for this weeks show,” one user wrote, anticipating a Poehler’s cold opening for this weekend.

“miami stripper heard the content deprived poehler nation. so for this saturday, get ready because amy poehler's gonna be on snl,” a Poehler fan wrote.

“amy poehler warned us,” another user commented, including a screengrab of an episode of Parks and Rec where the actress says her stripper name would be “Equality”.

“amy poehler’s oscar winning performance,” someone else suggested.

Given upcoming movie Zola did originate from a (real) viral Twitter thread, a movie on a skilled stripper against the cops isn’t completely off the table.

Amy Poehler On The Influence Behind 'Moxie'

For now, Poehler is still basking in the success of her sophomore feature as a director, feminist teen dramedy Moxie.

The filmmaker and producer also stars as Lisa, a mom with at rebellious, feminist past. Her attitude inspires her shy teen daughter Vivian (Hadley Robinson) to speak up against the sexism at her high school, where boys rank girls according to unattainable beauty standards and are the perpetrators of casual sexual harassment.

After finding out Lisa’s feminist zines, Vivian starts her own and distribute it anonymously at school, sparking a much-needed conversation.

Poehler mentioned riot grrrl band Bikini Kill among her inspirations.

In the film, Vivian listens to the band and watches excerpts from a documentary on the band’s frontwoman Kathleen Hanna.

“Bikini Kill was a very influential band in the 90s,” the director said.

“Kathleen is a really interesting artist and she provided a soundtrack for what it felt like trying to make change happen and so [song Rebel Girl] is certainly something that inspired me,” she continued.
