If you thought the Joe Biden vs Donald Trump debate was uncomfortable viewing - Trump vs Markle would truly be unmissable. Rumors have been swirling for months that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, could run for President of The United States. Meghan and her husband Prince Harry have recently given up their roles as “active royals.”

Yesterday, former President Donald Trump hinted on his intention of running again in 2024. The 45th President of the United States also welcomed the rumors of Meghan running too. In the interview late Tuesday, the 74-year-old said he was “hopeful” that the pregnant Duchess of Sussex, run for the White House in 2024. Even stating her candidacy might compel him to jump into the race as well.

"Mr. President, what was your take on Meghan Markle now saying — meeting with Democratic operatives, she may want to run for president?" Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump during a wide-ranging interview.

"I hope that happens," Trump responded. "If that happened, I think I’d have an even stronger feeling toward running," he said.

"As you know I have met with The Queen, I think The Queen is a tremendous person, I'm not a fan of Meghan,” Trump remarked.

Twitter had a field day debating whether or not Markle should run for office, as betting companies slashed their odds on the duchess running for President.

Meanwhile a friend of the couple told the Sunday Times that Meghan felt she “lost her voice” when she first started dating the prince.

"She had a platform as a moderately successful actress, and when she was told to stop using her social media and be careful what she said, I could tell that loss of voice and independence pained her," the friend said.

“Having an institutional voice within the Royal Family wasn’t enough. This interview will be the loudest way she’ll get her voice back.”

Speaking to the Express, royal author Richard Fitzwilliam explained that activism has always been a part of Meghan's life.

“Meghan, a superb public speaker and an American citizen, might well conclude that whether it is in a decade or two decades, she could run for public office. At 39, she can take whatever time she needs to decide,” he added.
