Fans think that the scandal involving Chrissy Teigen has come to impact the image of her husband, singer John Legend.

Earlier this year, Teigen admitted to having bullied a teenaged Courtney Stodden in the past. The non-binary model married actor Doug Hutchison when they were 16. In a recent interview, Stodden revealed that Teigen told them to kill themselves at the time of their marriage.

Teigen addressed Stodden’s claims and apologized, before going off social media for a while. She made a comeback with a lengthy note in which she called herself a bully.

Following a new attempt to make amends in which Teigen says she is part of the "cancel club," social media users seem to have had enough and are now questioning her husband too.

Twitter React To John Legend Failing To Speak Up On Chrissy Teigen Controversy

Despite the scandal, the couple seems to be going as strong as ever, as pictures popping up on Teigen’s Instagram prove.

Teigen and Legend first met in 2006 on the set of his music video Stereo, where she plays his love interest. They got engaged in 2011 after dating for four years and tied the knot in 2013. The couple has two children together. In 2020, the pair was expecting a third child, but Teigen suffered a stillbirth.

Famously, Legend’s romantic ballad All of Me is dedicated to Teigen. After the bullying accusations that also saw Teigen removed from the new season of Netflix teen drama Never Have I Ever, some fans are incredulous that Legend hasn’t spoken up on the controversy yet.

“I wanna like John Legend but the FACT that he married Chrissy Teigen doesn't sit right with my soul,” one Twitter user wrote.

"Who you marry is a direct reflection of your values. I’m thinking about John Legend,” was another comment.

Fans Think Teigen Is Tarnishing Legend’s Reputation

“john legend probably sit in the car outside in the driveway for 30 minutes before he come home,” one tweet reads.

Another fan of Legend said that he was an “unproblematic fav” before Teigen’s past behavior was exposed.

“John Legend was an unproblematic fav and then Chrissy Teigen’s skeletons jumped out,” they wrote, explaining that “[Teigen] has people questioning him/looking at him sideways now”.
