Prince Charles had the public talking this morning, after he shared a bizarre fact about his car.

Charles' Aston Martin Uses Wine & Cheese As Fuel

The Prince of Wales was doing an interview with the publication's Climate Editor Justin Rowlat when he told him the surprising fact about his automobile.

He said that the car was a gift from his mother, Queen Elizabeth, on his 21st birthday.

It is a vintage blue Aston Martin sports car that he has had for over 50 years.

The ex-husband of Princess Diana was speaking to the journalist about ways that he is committed to protecting the environment and saving the climate, and changing his car's fuel source is one such way.

He explained that because gasoline is so bad for the atmosphere, he had his vehicle converted so that it could travel using a different method.

Charles, who has yet to meet his granddaughter, explains the old car still works, but using waste products instead of gas.

"My old Aston Martin, that runs now on waste products," he said as he showed off the automobile.

"It runs on - can you believe this - surplus English white wine and whey from the cheese process,' Charles continued.

Twitter Had Plenty To Say In Reaction To The Revelation

Once the interview was aired this morning and people became aware of how the Prince of Wales fills up his car, Twitter was sounding off with responses.

Many were amazed that using wine and cheese as an alternative for gasoline was even an option.

Some said that they related to the vehicle.

"Never mind your car, I'm running on wine and cheese. Well, wine mostly," one Twitter user joked.

Others seemed to think that the move was a little tone-deaf when there are so many people in England struggling to get by.

"Lots of people would just like to be able to run a car," one person pointed out.

"One must be so lucky to have an old, but very valuable Aston Martin that runs on one’s surplus wine & sheep cheese. This is exactly the example that all those poverty stricken people who’ve just had £20 Universal Credit removed from them should be taking notice of," another said.
