Some people aren't satisfied with merely hanging out with animals. They feel as if they have to become them. You've all likely seen people who have gone as far as to get body modifications in order to look more like a cat, or don a collar and tail and hang out with the rest of the dogs at the park. Hey, no judgment here. Okay, maybe a little bit.
How would you feel if we told you that you can hang out with your pet as if you were one and the same without going to the trouble of having whiskers pierced into your cheeks? Well, good news everyone. Japanese companies Shindo Rinka and Workshop 91 have teamed up and are creating lifelike, custom-made cat masks, as reported by grape.
No, not masks for your cat. Human-sized masks of your cat's head for you to wear around the house, and out and about we guess if you should be so inclined. As you can see, they are super realistic and incredibly creepy. The creators of the masks just need a photo of your cat and then they can get to work. First, they sculpt the mold, then add the fur, and finally finish off with the finer details such as the color of your cat's fur.
Normally, cats don't tend to be that bothered by their surroundings or what their humans are up to. However, rock up to it wearing a giant head that looks exactly like their own then they will likely shoot you at least a second glance, if not a third. If you want one though, it is going to cost you a pretty penny. If you can navigate the Japanese site and figure out if the masks ship internationally, the replica will set you back 300,000¥. That's $2700.
