Viola Takes A Shot!

The star, who was nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, pretended to shake a shot with absolute precision on the red carpet. Her husband, Julius Tennon accompanied her and did his best, but Viola's pretend performance is worthy of an Oscar itself.

"Someone give Viola Davis an Oscar just for this performance of her pretending to take a shot," they wrote in the caption.

Hours later, the video has achieved viral status with fans crediting Viola's performance to Annalise Keating, the leading character of ABC's legal thriller series How To Get Away With Murder.

Viola portrays the Emmy-winning character of the series; professor and lawyer Annalise Keating. Needless to say, she has a strained relationship with alcohol.

Although Annalise is a fierce lawyer who will do anything to win a case in the early seasons, her alcohol dependence gradually increases as the series goes on.

She struggles with alcoholism and finds refuge in a drink while setting aside her problems and never actually grieving over the losses in her life. Fans were witness to Viola's tremendous acting skills in the show, and believe she nailed her red carpet moment because of her previous role.

"She so damned good, I didn’t even realize there was no glass in her hand til I read your caption a second time..." replied @andreadtx.

"Annalise has drunk out of wineglasses, shot glasses, mugs, mason jars, everything short of that damn trophy She put in her hours: wrote another fan.

@m_mcf4 added "Annalise drank vodka like water ain’t even flinch at the taste of it."

Viola Davis previously won an Academy Award in 2017 for her performance in Fences, which made her the first American-African actor to achieve the "Triple Crown Of Acting". She has also won a Primetime Emmy Award and two Tony Awards.
