While this special television interview is still days away, CBS has leaked some footage revealing parts of Meghan’s conversation with Oprah. And let’s just say that the content is pretty darn juicy. Let’s dive in.
Meghan And Harry Put The Royal Family On Blast
In a brief sneak peek of the interview, Meghan Markle reflects on her damaged relationship with her in-laws at Buckingham Palace.
“How do you feel about the Palace hearing you speak your truth today,” Oprah asks Meghan.
The American woman responded carefully yet candidly. “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time, we would still just be silent, if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.”
Woah, those are some pretty strong accusations!
Meghan, however, seems unfazed by the thought of retaliation from Buckingham Palace. As she expresses to Oprah, even in her past silence, she sacrificed quite a bit. “If that comes at the risk of losing things,” Meghan stated, “I mean, there is a lot that’s been lost already.”
Fans Have A Lot To Say
With an issue as divisive as that of the British Royal Family, there are a lot of mixed opinions about what’s really going on behind the scenes here. Some fans alleged that Meghan and Harry are airing the Palace’s dirty laundry for a bit more fame.
“Well, she’s now more famous than she ever will be,” commented one fan.
Another agreed, “She went from the D-List to The A-List really quickly.”
Even celebrity blogger Perez Hilton insinuated that the pair chose to live in America over Canada, “for the fame.”
However, some Insta users had a different idea in mind, one that was much more sympathetic to Meghan’s position as the first African American member of the Royal Family. “I know for a fact that they treated her like sh**, because she broke over 500 years of tradition,” wrote one fan.
