Wendy Williams has been called out by her younger brother for missing their mother's funeral.

Last month it emerged that Williams' mother Shirley Skinner Williams has passed away.

In a new YouTube video, Tommy Williams revealed in tears that his famous sister attended his mother's wake with her son and ex-husband, Kevin Hunter. The 56-year-old talk show host allegedly told her family she would be flying back home to New York the next day. The day of her mother's funeral. However according to her brother she stayed in town and had lunch with her ex-husband.

Wiping back tears, Tommy said: "My mother always said stand by your family and your sisters. But what makes somebody not go to their mother's funeral? I don't understand not giving a salute to the one person who was always there and showed you support."

He continued: "How can you not go to the funeral and hold up the one parent and family members you have left?"

After Tommy uploaded his video, many fans took to Wendy's defense, citing the fact that "everyone grieves differently."

"Surprised Wendy did not go. Sounds like she couldn’t handle it. Everyone grieves differently- i lost my mother I just turned 23yrs old. I found it hard to go to any funerals after. It took many years to go to any funeral services," one comment read.

"I get she couldn't take seeing her mother like that.I just wish she had decided to cope with someone else other then Kevin Hunter," a second added.

"Some people just can't handle funerals. It doesn't mean they don't love the deceased," a third chimed in.

But some fans were not so sympathetic.

"I do not understand why Wendy wouldn’t attend her Mom’s funeral. I’m shocked!"
