Since launching in 2011, Game of Thrones has accumulated a large fan base and was arguably one of the most popular TV shows at the time. In fact, it was so popular that it regularly pulled in millions upon millions of viewers from across the globe, with Season 7 averaging 32.7 million viewers per episode. This figure is one which is clearly reflective of the show's success, despite what some felt was an anti-climatic ending. While many fans felt as though the show had a disappointing ending, the earlier seasons were still incredibly enthralling for many, with fans tuning in on a regular basis to watch the plot thicken on their screens.

Spanning a total of eight seasons, the show followed nine families within the continent of Westeros, all battling for ultimate domination and power. Along the way, fans bore witness to bloody battles, family feuds, and other dark themes.

Emilia Clarke Has Become Best Known For Her Role As Daenerys Targaryen In Game Of Thrones

Game Of Thrones was host to a grand total of 52 main characters, a rather large cast. Of course, fans quickly developed their most loved and most hated characters.

One of the most-love characters was no one other than Daenerys Targaryen, the younger sister of Rhaegar Targaryen and Viserys Targaryen. Many fans loved the character simply because of her dragons, and her beauty.

She quickly became known for her signature long, blonde hair.

Many loyal fans of the show probably already know that the role was played by Emilia Clarke, a British actress from London. It was this role as Daenerys that helped to gain the actress worldwide recognition and open many more opportunities up for the star.

However, despite her success on the show, she has still admitted that there were some difficult moments during filming the show. One of these moments was when she cried on the first day on the set due to an embarrassing moment when she fell off a horse.

As mentioned earlier, fans also came to adore the actress due to her beautiful looks in the show, further fueling her online popularity. All across the internet, fans shared clips and photos of the young actress. She (and her character) also became many memes (the dragons were in on it, too).

In addition, much like the show's fan base, it turns out that Emilia too wasn't a big fan of how the show wrapped up. However, this isn't the only show that she has had some difficulties dealing with. It turns out Emilia refuses to watch House of Dragons.

She Did Not Feature In Game Of Thrones Spinoff Series House Of Dragons

Just three years later in 2022, the prequel to Game of Thrones would launch. Titled House Of Dragons, the prequel show is set almost 200 years before Game of Thrones, diving deeper into the backstory of the Targaryen civil war.

So far, there has only been one season of the show, however, it seems to of been incredibly well-received by fans, having received a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 on Google Reviews. The second season is set to begin production in 2023, and excitement is already beginning to build among fans.

However, despite being based around the Targaryen family, Emilia Clarke doesn't actually feature in the show. While it was a disappointment for many fans, it is in fact logical that Emilia does not appear in the show.

This is because House of Dragons is set around 200 years prior to Game of Thrones, therefore it wouldn't make sense for her to be in it.

But despite not being in the show, it seems as though Emilia Clarke has still formed her own opinion.

Emilia Finds It Difficult To Watch House Of Dragons Because It Feels Strange To Her

Before the first season had even been released, it seems as though Emilia had already had some awkward encounters with the House of Dragons series, in particular at the premiere event with the Foxtel CEO.

During the event, CEO Patrick Delany reportedly described Clarke as a “short, dumpy girl." This was not well-received by fans or the public, and an apology was later issued.

However, as well as this particularly negative encounter, Emilia has also admitted that she finds it particularly difficult to watch House of Dragons.

Speaking with Variety, Clarke stated that she doesn't actually watch the highly-popular show, with the reason being that she finds it 'strange' and 'weird'.

During the interview, she explained, "I'm over the moon about all the awards . . . I just can't do it. It's so weird. It's so strange. It's kind of like someone saying, 'You want to go to this school reunion that's not your year? Want to go to that school reunion?' That's how it feels. I'm avoiding it."
