Lizzo is clearly a force to be reckoned with. After 'Truth Hurts' catapulted her to stardom, Lizzo began enjoying quite the star-studded spotlight. She's rubbed elbows with all manner of famous folks, now that she's one herself.

And yet there are a few people who seem to be just outside Lizzo's circle -- though that hasn't stopped her from reaching out to them. In fact, Lizzo's built up some enviable friendships with other celebs, and they often come to her defense when trolls start trollin'.

But, not everyone is thrilled with Lizzo. Some fans have very specific thoughts about the way Lizzo interacts with celebs who aren't quite her pals, though she may want them to be.

Case in point? Chris Evans and Lizzo's relationship, which isn't really a relationship at all.

Is It Really An Unpopular Opinion?

For a while now, Lizzo has been publicly chasing after Chris Evans in a variety of social media posts and scenarios. Though at first, a lot of fans thought it was cute, they've sort of change their tune these days.

One fan posted on the aptly titled subreddit Unpopular Opinion to share what they felt was probably a very rare opinion on Lizzo. And yet, the majority of commenters who responded happened to agree with the one fan who laid it all out there.

Many Fans Think Chris Evans And Lizzo's Relationship Is Inappropriate

First off, fans point out that despite everyone calling it the 'Chris Evans and Lizzo relationship,' it's not really a relationship. Instead, it's Lizzo "lusting after" Evans in what is an "inappropriate and kind of predatory" way, said one fan.

But before loyal followers of Lizzo get up in arms, there are a few facts to consider here.

For one, if the genders were switched, commenters noted, "this would be highly inappropriate. Especially if it was a less revered celebrity."

Consider the example of Lizzo claiming to be pregnant with Chris' baby; if a male celebrity claimed to have gotten Lizzo pregnant, it would "so not fly," commenters alleged.

Another sarcastically quipped, "No, no, no. When women do creepy, aggressive, predatory, etc. things to men, it is cute, funny, and men should be happy. It is only a problem when the genders are reversed. Because double standards are fun."

It's more than just each person's gender in this scenario, though. Commenters suggest that Lizzo is practically social media stalking Chris Evans, and that he "never asked for any of it."

Fans Think Chris Evans May Be Uncomfortable

Though Lizzo's more ardent supporters tend to claim that Chris is OK with the singer calling him her baby daddy and sharing their DMs on her social media, others disagree.

A lot of commenters concurred with the assumption that Chris isn't interested but that he "doesn't want to start a commotion."

Another weird angle to the whole 'relationship' ship? The fact that Chris responded to Lizzo's DMs, well, in DMs. Then Lizzo publicly posted Chris' responses to her. It's a bit awkward, even for noncelebrities, for private conversations -- even jokes -- to be posted up on Instagram or TikTok.

Lizzo Even Admits To Being A Bit Over The Top

Recalling how Lizzo and Chris Evans first started chatting, it's clear that Lizzo is very up-front about her intentions. She first DM'd Chris Evans to flirt with him, of course, and later she made the joke that she was pregnant by him.

The thing is, Lizzo has always expressed that she's a bit over the top with her fangirling. Case in point? Calling herself a "Horandog" while laughing over fans' love of her 'chemistry' with Niall Horan.

Lizzo also followed that declaration (and hashtag) with "There’s only 1D I want, honey." Again, as Redditors suggested, a script flip here would have any male celebrity being dragged in the media.

Of course, Lizzo is a unique character. She clearly owns her vibe, calling herself "ratchet" in her newest collab, and her lyrics often center on how much hate she gets, though it's mostly about her size and not her affection for famous male celebs.

Is Lizzo Handling Her Crushes The Wrong Way?

Since Lizzo's image centers on really being loud and proud about who she is and what she stands for, fans kind of assume that her 'infatuations' with her celeb crushes are fairly purposeful. Maybe she enjoys stirring up controversy and starting conversations?

But if that's the case, Redditors, especially, are curious about whether Lizzo realizes she might be leaning toward the "predatory" side of things versus being cute and flirty. There's a line there, but the big question is whether Lizzo has crossed it.
