There’s no doubt that Emma Watson is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood these days. Although she’s a pretty serious actress, she does comedy films from time to time and the Bling Ring actress definitely got some sense of humor.Although she’s done a lot through the course of her career, it was pretty clear that there was a line she isn’t willing to cross for a film.Apparently, the English actress and activist walked out of the set in the middle of the scene while filming This Is The End. The said scene involves Channing Tatum and everyone was just in disbelief when the 32-year-old actress walked off the set. So what really happened between Channing Tatum and Emma Watson that the actress chose to abandon the set?
Emma Watson Had A Major Problem With The Scenes On ‘This is the End’
When the actress got the script for the film This is the End, the actress who lived a quiet life initially had no issues since she decided to accept the project. She signed on it, came to the set and shot some of her scenes. The film indeed included her as she appeared on some of the scenes on This is the End.
However, according to one of the extra who filmed with the actors on set, Emma Watson was supposed to be on Channing Tatum's big scene in the film. She reportedly left and refused to do the scene altogether. Although the actress eventually returned to shoot more scenes, ultimately she left after a few minutes which caused the shoot to wrap for the day.
According to the post of the extra named Courtney “So Emma had already filmed a scene last week at “James Franco’s party” and was coming back Wednesday and Thursday to film another scene with Channing Tatum, Danny McBride, Seth Rogan, Franco and Jay Baruchel.
The scene was as raunchy as it could be. Seth, Franco and Kay are kneeling on the ground with a few “cannibals” over them (that’s me) waiting to eat them as McBride comes out of an RV as our “king” with Channing Tatum on a leash in only a thong.”
She continued “Emma knew he was going to be in a thong and everyone knows he used to be a stripper. So things were starting to get raunchy. Emma steps on set and looks at the scene and all of us in it and kind of has a freak-out moment…"
"During the scene Channing decided to do some of his break dancing in front of her but alas he was in nothing but a thong. So Emma storms off set. Everyone’s like WTF where is she going? She walks all the way down the street. So we wrapped the night 5 minutes later”
Channing Tatum Was Apparently Drinking While Filming The Scene
Since Emma Watson knew what kind of film This Is The End is, she knew what was coming her way. The actress who turned down an Oscar winning role has accepted the project and that she had to film some of the raunchy scenes on the film, but she had limitations. She just reached her limit and decided it wasn’t worth it.
The scene was already pretty insufferable but what made it worse is that Channing Tatum was apparently drinking during the shoot. This reportedly upset the actress and decided that it’s better to quit.
The extra says “Came back the next day and found out she quit because the scene was too raunchy, and she was really pissed that Channing was drinking while filming. He was obviously smoking weed as well. But who can blame her right? She has a good image to uphold. But her quitting made last night filled with Emma jokes.”
The actress apparently became the butt of the joke on set as Channing Tatum threw some punch line. She further added “The ground was wet and muddy and Channing said we were stepping in Emma’s tears.”
James Franco And Seth Rogen Talked About The Incident
James Franco also told the story without naming Emma Watson. He tells Interview Magazine “This actress—I won’t say who… had a smaller role in the film—walked off the movie in the middle of a scene.”
He continued “I’ll admit that the scene we were doing was pretty crazy. There’s not any nudity, but it is pretty outrageous. It’s not as if the scene wasn’t in the script, though. In any case, I didn’t see any of this go down, but I guess she basically went up to the directors, Seth and Evan [Goldberg], and said, “I don’t think I can do this.”
The director of the film, Seth Rogen who had a huge makeover, confirmed to his GQ interview that Emma Watson bailed on the set but she did not walk out. The comedian said that there are no hard feelings, and he’s still thankful to the actress.
He said “it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end… She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it.”
