Playing the role of Rose on Two and a Half Men, Melanie Lynskey became a fan favorite with the audience. Lynskey was initially thrilled to have landed the role on the sitcom.

"I got cast as a guest star on Two and a Half Men and I just thought, 'Do a sitcom — that seems like fun.' When the show got picked up, they asked me to be a regular; that was a harder decision. But everyone around me was like, 'Wow, this is great, congratulations.' So I decided to try it on."

Lynskey appreciated the stable pay that came with, however, the actress eventually wanted out given her lower salary, and lack of appearances on the show.

"It was literally the least they could possibly pay me, according to SAG," she continued. "I did one season, and I thought, 'Oh, this is not for me.' It felt very hard knowing that most of my year was gonna be this."

The sitcom forced Lynskey into staying, however, she would finally get her way, being allowed to come and go, while working on other projects at the same time. The actress had no regrets, despite the fact that she could've made so much more once the show's popularity really hit.

Melanie Lynskey Had A Strong Relationship With Charlie Sheen Behind The Scenes, But Lost Touch With The Actor In Recent Years

Charlie Sheen's departure on Two and a Half Men was a controversial one behind the scenes. However, when it came to his relationship with the cast, they had mostly positive things to say.

When asked by Fox News, Lynskey admitted that she doesn't talk to Sheen as much, but always had a good relationship with the actor.

“I haven’t actually been in touch with him for a while,” she admitted. “I send him my best always and hope that he’s doing well. But… he was a very, very generous actor to work with and was always very kind to me.”

Following the controversy surrounding Charlie Sheen and his Two and a Half Men exit, several of his cast members took to the media, and defended the actor for the way he treated his co-stars on the sitcom.

Holland Taylor was one of those people, who played his rival/mother on the show.

She said, "Charlie was cordial and polite with all of his cast mates and crew, sometimes even courtly -- and always witty," Taylor told The Associated Press.

"We watched movies at his house occasionally -- warm evenings with interesting, spirited conversation. This is the guy I know. In this very sad and complicated time," she added.

"I really have no comment beyond valuing my own history with Charlie, and my abiding affection for him."

Who knows what could've been had Charlie Sheen decided to stay on the show. He did admit to regretting the way the situation was ultimately handled. At the very least, fans will always have the reruns to look back on for years to come.
