Television host and director Ryan Seacrest is a household name. He has such a busy career that fans think he'll never get married. Julianne, on the other hand, was once married to hockey player Brooks Laich.

Seacrest and Hough's breakup was amicable, and the duo still remain friends. According to Julianne, the two even chat and show love and respect for each other.

Since their breakup, they have both been linked to some famous names in Hollywood. At one point, there was even a rumor that Julianne and Leonardo DiCaprio may have hooked up.

Why Did Julianne Hough And Ryan Seacrest Break Up?

When Julianne and Ryan met, she'd just skyrocketed to stardom on Dancing With The Stars. Ryan boasted of a successful career and was already established in the entertainment industry. The pair began dating in 2010 and were often spotted out together. Of course, Julianne is one of the most beautiful women Ryan's ever been linked to (and there are a lot!).

Ryan pulled out all the stops for his lady, from vacations and gifts to private jets and fancy yachts. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Julianne dished on her then-boyfriend.

She said, "He's really romantic. He's not even in town, and I got in my car and there are flowers everywhere. For my birthday, same thing – flowers everywhere. I was almost embarrassed. You walk in [the hotel room] and you're like, 'Is this my room? I don't even know.' I'm kind of embarrassed."

After dating for three years, the duo called it quits. Reports claimed that their hectic work schedules were a challenge for the pair.

Per, The Blast, Julianne told Parade, "It’s a hard thing to do, especially when you’re so caught up in your work and bettering yourself. I think at the end of the day, you have to find a balance with what’s really important."

Julianne Felt Lost Following The Breakup

Ryan Seacrest is a prolific television host and producer. Of course, people take an interest in his private life. His high-profile relationship with Julianne was much talked about both by the media and the celebs' fans.

Their breakup shocked many fans who'd rooted for them to make it. While the pair's split was amicable, it was still hard for Julianne.

In an Instagram Live with Valeria Lipovetsky, Julianne spoke about feeling lost and empty following such a public breakup. Although she didn't mention Seacrest by name, fans connected the dots and figured out that it was him she was referring to.

"It was 2013, and I had just gotten out of a relationship that was very high profile. I was on private planes and on yachts and living in a very, very well off house, and my life was really different from where I grew up."

Being with Ryan without a doubt exposed Julianne to certain luxuries that she didn't feel she deserved. It's worth noting that Hough is a successful artist in her own right. Aside from being a professional dancer, she's also an award-winning singer and actor.

Hough also touched on leaving her relationship with Seacrest in order to create her own lavish lifestyle.

"I had just gotten out of that relationship because I wanted to create that for myself because I kind of felt like I didn't deserve it. I didn’t earn that. So now I need to go create that for myself."

Ryan And Julianne Are Still Friends

Not all exes become sworn enemies. Seacrest and Hough have remained friends even after their 2013 split. Their friendship has lasted longer than their romance did.

The pair has moved on with their lives publicly. The American Idol host has been linked to several women since his split from Hough. The Dancing With The Stars alum has also been in other relationships; she later married former pro hockey player, Brooks Laich.

Ryan even congratulated Julianne on her marriage to her now-ex-husband.

During Julianne's appearance on Ryan's On Air With Ryan Seacrest talk show, the duo spoke about their friendship. They explained to the co-hosts and audiences that they are friends, and they chat.

Ryan stated, "[My co-hosts] don’t understand the concept that one can remain friends after a breakup. Or after dating or whatever happened. Julianne feels the same as I do. There is nothing uncomfortable about it because we remained friends for years and still are."

They still have love and respect for one another, there was no awkwardness between them during the show.
