Breaking into the business as a child star is a challenge that few are actually willing to undertake. There is a lot of pressure that these kids face early on, and this is not always a great thing. Sure, it comes with huge opportunities, but this particular path is not for everyone.

Abigail Breslin broke into the industry as a child performer who wound up turning heads in movies like Little Miss Sunshine, and since that movie came along and changer her career, she has remained exceptionally active in the industry.

Let’s take a closer look at Abigail Breslin and see what she has been up to since she was just a kid starring in Little Miss Sunshine.

She Starred In The Zombieland Franchise

Little Miss Sunshine was a wildly successful film that garnered Abigail Breslin a lot of praise and attention, and down the line, she would make appearances in other successful films. Of note, Breslin was a key performer in the Zombieland franchise that fans fell in love with when it debuted years ago.

The first film in the franchise debuted back in 2009, and it offered a hilarious and unique take on the zombie film genre. These movies have been done time and time again, but what the writers of the movie were able to do here really helped it stand out and catch on with fans. The cast of the movie, including Breslin, really got a chance to shine with the material they were working with.

That first Zombieland film made over $100 million at the box office against a $23 million budget, making it a success. Fans raved about the movie, and they were interested in a sequel coming into play down the line. Though it would take years, the fans finally got their wish when Zombieland: Double Tap was brought to the big screen.

The sequel to the successful first film came an entire decade later, and a lot had changed but then. One thing that remained the same was that the writers did a great job with the humor in the film. The sequel did have a much bigger budget when compared to its predecessor, but the movie did gross $122 million at the box office.

Breslin’s time in the Zombieland franchise was fruitful, as was her appearance in other films, but fans will be happy to see that she has also thrived on the small screen. The show Scream Queens, in particular, has been a great vehicle for Breslin.

According to IMDb, Breslin has appeared in all 23 episodes of the show thus far, playing the character Chanel #5. While she is not the outright star of the show, there is no denying that she has done well for herself in the role alongside the other notable names taking part in each episode. It has been confirmed that another season will be coming along, and it will be interesting to see what direction the show heads in.

Elsewhere on the small screen, Breslin has landed some guest roles on popular projects. In 2006 alone, the same year that Little Miss Sunshine hit theaters, Breslin appeared in Grey’s Anatomy and Ghost Whisperer, meaning that her career was having a massive boost during that time.

In more recent television projects, Breslin was cast as Baby in the 2017 version of Dirty Dancing, which aired on ABC.

She’s Released Some Music

Though Abigail Breslin is primarily known for what she has done on the big and small screen, the truth is that the performer has a lot more going for her than just acting. She has flashed her musical talent in recent years, and she has even released a few singles along the way.

Back in 2010, the performer starred in the film Janie Jones, and in that film, fans got the chance to see a younger Breslin tap into a different side of her game. She performed on the album that was released for the film, and people were quite surprised to see what she was able to do behind the microphone as opposed to what she had done in front of the cameras.

Since the release of that album, Breslin has slowly added some music to her repertoire. Going by the moniker Sophomore, Breslin released her most recent single “90’s Honey” back in 2019. It will be worth keeping an eye on to see if the performer eventually releases a full solo album.
