When looking at Alex Pettyfer's acting career, he had some very prominent roles early on. In 2008, he played Freddie in Wild Child opposite Emma Roberts, who has been acting since her early teens. Pettyfer also played John in 2011's I Am Number Four, and Kyle in Beastly which was released in 2011.

After starring in Magic Mike, which came out in 2012, it seemed like there were many years between Pettyfer's movies.

When someone has made it big in Hollywood, what people think of them is definitely everything, and there are many stars who changed their reputations from bad to good.

The 'Magic Mike' Problem

Fans of Channing Tatum, who has a $6o million net worth, may have heard that Tatum and Alex Pettyfer had some drama and conflict while filming the movie.

The two stars didn't get along on the movie's set, according to Cheat Sheet, Pettyfer has explained that he didn't have a good reputation.

Pettyfer said, “I didn’t speak on the movie [set]. I was scared to speak,” he said. “I did my work and then I sat in the corner and listened to music because I’d been told that anything I do was wrong by my reps and I was very insecure as a human being. That also gave me a bad rep because they said, ‘Oh Alex thinks he’s f***ing better than everybody else because he doesn’t speak to anyone.’ And that’s not true. I was genuinely nervous and scared to be myself."

Looking at Alex Pettyfer's roles since Magic Mike, it seems like his acting career has stalled and his roles haven't been that prominent.

In 2014, he played David in the romantic movie Endless Love, and his other movie parts aren't that recognizable. Some movies on his resume include Urban MythsBack RoadsThe Last Witness, and the short film It's Me, Sugar.

According to Cinemablend.com, the drama between Tatum and Pettyfer continued as Pettyfer and his girlfriend began living in a place that belonged to a Tatum's friend. Although they were meant to be there for a month and they didn't end up staying that long, Tatum's friend wanted to be paid for the entire month.

Pettyfer didn't want to do that, and he was also coping with the passing of a family member. Tatum was upset and e-mailed him, saying that he should pay the money.

Dark Dreams Entertainment

While it seems like Pettyfer's acting career stopped bringing him really prominent movie roles, he has started a production company and that has been successful.

The company is called Dark Dreams Entertainment and Pettyfer started it with James Ireland.

A recent Instagram post shared the good news that Pettyfer will be starring in an upcoming project called The Lost Ones. According to Variety, this is a horror movie about a family whose child is seeing spirits.

Pettyfer's reputation made it tough for him to be as successful as people thought, according to NME.com. But once he started his own company, he began doing much better.

The publication reported that he directed his first movie called Back Roads and Juliette Lewis starred in it. Pettyfer told NME.com, “It was such an amazing life-changing experience for me, creatively. Previously, as an actor, I was really focused on my own character’s arc and journey, and when you’re directing a movie this collaborative experience starts to transpire. You start to realize that the filmmaking experience is about collaboration and that’s key, so my whole psyche towards making films, and moving forward as an actor, has completely changed.”

Pettyfer also said that his production company was open to different genres: he said, "Our goal is to make great content and that doesn’t just mean film and television, it can be documentary, reality, whatever it has to be.”

Another Issue

Alex Pettyfer has also shared that he has a fear of flying and that when he is done a movie and has to go different places to do press, that can be a problem.

According to Just Jared Jr., it seems that he started to get over this in 2015: he wrote on Instagram, “Flying back in to LA from Mexico….. I really do have a fear of flying. But to be controlled by fear is a boundary, especially in this life that offers so much. Whatever your afraid of you can CONQUER!!! trust me #conqueryourfear #helpfromfriends #lovelife,”

While it looks like Alex Pettyfer was in some well-known movies earlier in his career and that isn't the case anymore, his production company is doing super well and it looks like they will continue to grow.
