Donatella Versace's Face Has Been A Topic Of Conversation For Years

In 2014, Donatella made headlines after she was photographed looking "very shiny," per Yahoo!. At that time, Mark Norfolk, Clinical Director for Transform Cosmetic Surgery, weighed in and said: "Where to start? Donatella is looking unbelievably shiny and I would put this down to her being a heavy Botox user. Botox can leave patients with a shiny, elongated line-free forehead – which is what you can see here."

The plastic surgery expert added that Donatella overdid Botox, especially on her forehead and eyes. "It's not natural for a woman of her age to have no lines and wrinkles on her forehead or around her eyes," he explained. "I would expect her to have regular Botox treatments with her own non-surgical specialist. If you look at her eyes, they appear half shut – you see this in women who have too much Botox in their forehead and filler in their cheeks."

Mark added that Donatella's lips seem to have gone through a number of procedures. "The lines between her mouth and nose are very prominent, suggesting again, she has too much filler in her cheeks," he continued. "Donatella's lips have been over done, so much so that they are no longer in sync with the rest of her facial features and are the first thing you look at. Far too much product and there’s no definition in her top lip. My advice would be to leave more time in-between lip treatments and to have a minimal amount of product injected."

Did Donatella Versace Get Plastic Surgery?

That same year, more experts shared their assessment of Donatella's drastic transformation. "She's pretty much had it all. Botox, fillers, lasers for the skin. Minimal recovery time for those, though there can be some redness of the skin for a few weeks with laser therapy," renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Steve Fallek told Hollywood Life, adding that the businesswoman has also had "face lift and eyes and brow lift." He also noted: "There are some risks with multiple face lifts but most involve skin loss. Anesthesia not so much a problem if she's had success before."

Dr. Bruce Katz from Juva Skin & Laser Center also thinks that Donatella "had her cheeks augmented, probably with filler and certainly her lips have been filled, her eyelids are a little droopy. I think she has had some bad Botox because they look like they are drooping. Maybe a little too much Botox in the forehead. She certainly can use some filler in her ear lobes, they are very stretched."

Another expert, Dr. David Rapaport provided a timeline for Donatella's alleged procedures. "From 2002 on her face seems to have more artificially defined fullness where now her lips seem to be over inflated. Most recently, it seems very clear that she has a facelift scar that I can see in front of her temple area you can see a fine linear scar," he said at the time. "Her face looks more taught and tight, she has clearly undergone facelift surgery — perhaps over inflated cheeks and lips."

He continued: "It appears as if her nose has never been done. Mainly I would say a facelift. Somewhere between 2011-2014 she had one. The hairline has been lifted too high, it shouldn't end that high above the ear — it could be because she has had more than one, but we can’t know that for sure."

Has Donatella Versace Admitted To Getting Plastic Surgery?

In a 2010 interview with Love Magazine, Donatella said: "I'm not a believer in the natural look." Though it wasn't an explicit admission to having had plastic surgery, many thought it was enough to explain her changing face. "I don't even know what my natural color is," the fashion designer added. "Natural? What is natural? What is that? I do not believe in totally natural for women. For me, natural has something to do with vegetables."

It sounds like a statement fans would attach to Kylie Jenner — who also became controversial for her lip fillers — as a meme.
