Jude Law has made plenty of headlines in his days as an A-list actor. But it's not always for a good reason. Fans will recall when the news of his affair with his children's nanny went public.
In 2003, Jude and Sadie ended their marriage but hired a nanny together in 2004. The former couple got married in September 1997 and share three children: Rafferty (who was linked to Rita Ora back in 2020), Iris, and Rudy. The kids ranged from age two to eight when the nanny was hired, and Jude and Sadie had more than one nanny to manage them all between their two houses.
Daily Mail reported that Jude and his ex Sadie Frost hired the nanny, Daisy Wright, in 2004. In the same year they hired Daisy, Jude got engaged to actress Sienna Miller. But the next year, Jude publicly apologized to his fiancée and their respective families for the hurt he'd caused by having an affair with Daisy.
Updated on March 13, 2022: Sienna and Jude had an on-and-off relationship over the years, finally spitting up for good in 2011. And despite this painful memory from their past, all parties involved have moved on. Since this article was published in 2020, Jude Law, who has five children from three previous relationships, has welcomed his sixth child with his wife Philipa Coan in September 2020. He's also been busy with his acting career, playing the part of Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
As for Sienna, she is currently single after splitting from her fiancé Lucas Zwirner back in 2020. She is still regarded as a fashion icon, but hasn't really been acting since 2020, or active on social media since late 2021. She has spoken about the affair since, however, revealing in an interview she did with The Daily Beast in December 2020 that there are six whole weeks of the experience she doesn't remember from the traumatic experience.
Updated on April 21, 2022: While Jude Law's cheating scandal rocked Hollywood back in 2005, and while everyone involved was quite shaken up about it at the time, it does seem as if all parties have moved on successfully. Sienna Miller is playing the main role on the new Netflix series Anatomy of a Scandal, while Jude Law continues to star as the beloved Albus Dumbledore in the Wizarding World films. Daisy Wright continues to maintain her privacy, but she seems to be living a happy and successful life out of the spotlight.
In an interview to promote Anatomy of a Scandal, Sienna Miller spoke about this particular scandal that she was a part of. She told Elle UK that her character felt familiar to her, because she was involved in a somewhat similar scandal.
What Does Daisy Wright Say About Her Affair With Jude Law?
Of course, Jude and Sienna would get back together, then break up again before finally parting ways permanently, and Sienna would get involved in a high-profile relationship with Daniel Craig that she later said she regretted.
But the nanny was totally nixed.
In her tell-all about her relationship with Jude, Daisy explained that she revealed she'd been spending private time with Jude when Sadie called her up and asked about the rumors she'd heard. Shortly afterward, Daisy was told her services were no longer necessary, and Jude blamed Sadie for the decision.
Once the details went public, and Daisy told all, Jude cut her out of his life and his kids' lives. The damage was done, though; one of Jude's kids saw the pair together, which started the rumors that turned out to be true.
Of the unceremonious firing and the breakup, Daisy said, "I was extremely upset about the way I was dismissed just like that from my job... I felt that Jude should have fought for me." He wouldn't, though.
What Happened To Daisy Wright After She Was Fired?
Though she admitted she was heartbroken that Jude dumped her (and fired her), Daisy didn't let it keep her down. She got paid for her story, of course, but then went back to nannying, though probably not for celebrities anymore.
In 2014, Daily Mail reported that Daisy had embarked on a new path in her career: she opened her own staffing agency. Daisy Wright lives a very private life and is untraceable on social media, presumably wanting to keep what happened with her and Jude Law firmly in the past where it belongs.
As for Daisy, she has two children of her own. Since it appears the business registered in her name is still active today. Hiring out more than just nannies, it seems like the business model has been successful.
The Affair Still Makes Those Involved Uncomfortable
The affair is something that makes everyone involved uncomfortable to talk about to this day.
Sienna Miller opened up about the affair in an interview with The Daily Beast in December 2020, saying that she had blocked the memories out. Miller said it was really hard, "because with that level of public heartbreak, to have to get out of a bed let alone stand in front of 800 people every night, it’s just the last thing you want to do."
Jude Law has previously said that a joke that appeared in Sex and the City 2 about his affair with Daisy Wright made his "blood run cold."
