Watching MTV's reality series Catfish is quite the wild time. There are many unbelievable and intense episodes and it's never easy to predict what's going to happen. Sure, some elements remain the same, as Nev and his co-host Kamie do online research and track down each person (and when Max was on the series, he was the one doing this alongside Nev).

It's interesting to learn about what it's like to be a star on Catfish and while for many, there are no love connections made and there is too much lying going on, some couples really have stayed together. Others have tried their best to create a meaningful, real relationship and have run into some obstacles. So, when it comes to some of the fan-favorite Catfish couples, where are they now? Let's find out!

Updated on November 5, 2021, by Michael Chaar: Catfish has certainly taken on a life of its own following its 2012 premiere on MTV. Fans have vecome invested in a number of couples who have successfully made it out of the show, however, where are they now? Well, as for Ashley and Mike, tragedy struck both of them following Mike's passing in 2013, and Ashley's death in 2016. Colleen and Tony are still very much together and engaged, and even welcomed a baby boy together back in 2017. As for fan favorites, Leuh and Jeremy, it seems as if their romance fizzels quite fast. In 2017, Leuh shared that she and Jeremy are no longer together, and her cut throat tweet led fans to believe that he cheated on her.

Ashley And Mike

For a long time, there were two people who met via Catfish and seemed to have an actual relationship after. Lauren and Derek are known as the couple who actually fell in love on Catfish but it's sad to learn that they did split up. What about some of the other couples?

Ashley and Mike appeared on season 2 of Catfish and they wanted to stay together. According to Distractify, Ashley Sawyer and Mike Fortunato had been talking for a period of 7 years, and then they met each other via the MTV series. Ashley and Mike wanted to stay together and give their relationship a real shot. But something terrible happened to both of them.

This story has a very tragic ending, as in 2013, Mike died of a pulmonary embolism. In 2016, Ashley passed away at the age of 23, and ITV says that her cause of death is not known.

In this Catfish episode, both people showed each other fake photos so they could pretend to look different, as they were both insecure. When they met IRL, they were able to see where the person was coming from. It's devastating to think that Ashley and Mike could have had a real, loving relationship if not for the tragedies that took place.

Colleen And Tony

Colleen and Tony appeared in season 6 of Catfish and when Nev and Max began their investigation, it turned out that they were each explaining the situation differently.

Tony told Nev and Max that Colleen's age was different than it really was, and that she wanted money from him. Nev explained in the episode, "It's just weird to us that he would have a different version of the story. It's making it hard for us to know who to believe."

This Catfish episode featured a proposal as according to Us Weekly, Jeremy (who went by his middle name, Tony, while talking to Colleen), asked Colleen if she would marry him.

Max said, “Congratulations. You’ve been catfished and you still have a relationship. That’s only happened to one other person. We’re like 95 episodes deep.”

According to In Touch Weekly, based on Colleen's Instagram, it seems that she and Jeremy did live happily ever after and have a son together. Colleen had a baby in 2017. There are many comments from fans saying how happy they are to learn that things worked out so well.

Leuh And Justin

While viewers watch each episode of Catfish, they usually think that one person is lying about their identity and using fake photos, often from someone else's social media profiles. In the season 5 episode featuring Leuh and Justin, it turned out that Justin was totally real.

This was a tough situation, as Leuh was willing to meet Justin in person, and he was slow to agree to that. Leuh lived in upstate NY and she wanted to move to California and go to college there so she could be with Justin. When the two did finally meet on the beach, Justin really was who he said that he was.

According to MTV News, Justin kept bringing up marriage during this first meeting. He said he would make sure that Max and Nev were wedding guests and then he said that he and Leuh will "get it all figured out once at the wedding."

Sadly, the two didn't end up together, as in 2017, Leuh broke the news on Twitter. She also mentioned that he wasn't her boyfriend in another tweet.
