"It doesn’t matter, and it’s about not having to label everything, not having to clarify what boxes you’re checking," he told Better Homes & Gardens earlier this year.

When an interviewer spoke to Harry Styles in 2013 about his relationship with English radio DJ Nick Grimshaw, Styles said they were just friends.

When the interviewer questioned his sexuality, asking if the singer was bisexual he answered with: "Bisexual? Me? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not."

In 2014, in a joint interview with his former bandmate Liam Payne, he admitted that it wasn't important he dated someone female just that they are nice, natural and had a sense of humor.
