Whether you love or hate his movies, you're at least familiar with Adam Sandler. The fifty-five-year-old actor and comedian may be best remembered for his movies from back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, such as Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, and 50 First Dates, but he's been just as active in the last decade, not just for comedic appearances in movies like Murder Mystery, but also for his move into more dramatic roles. For example, in 2009 he appeared in Funny People playing a comedian diagnosed with a terminal illness and grappling with his relationships.

6 He Signed A Huge Deal With Netflix

It has certainly been a lucrative year for Sandler. Back in January, following the massive success of his movie Murder Mystery which was released on the platform back in 2019, the actor signed a huge $250 million deal with streaming giant Netflix to produce four more projects. Sandler will be given complete artistic control over the productions, and it's clearly a massive win for the actor, who has established a great relationship with Netflix, having produced several movies for them; most recently, Hubie Halloween, starring Kevin James, Julie Bowen, and Maya Rudolph.

5 He's Considering Reuniting With Drew Barrymore On A Film Project

During an interview with Entertainment Online, Sandler expressed his interest in reuniting with actress Drew Barrymore on a new project. He and Barrymore have collaborated on a host of successful projects in the past, such as in The Wedding Singer and Blended, and said he would love to work with her once more: “Any time Drew wants to -- she's gotta tell me and then I'll do it,” he said. “But now she's busy with that show. I love her on the show.

“She's cool [and] solid as rock, just like she is in real life,” Sandler added about Barrymore’s new talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show. “[She] just knows how to talk to you [and] make you say, ‘Hmmm, maybe I'll discuss this with you.’ I always open up when I talk to Drew. She's gonna do that with the whole world.”

4 He Filmed His New Movie 'Hustle'

Sandler has been busy filming for his new movie 'Hustle' on location in Majorca. On wrapping up, he wrote on Twitter: 'Just wrapped HUSTLE. Thank you Philadelphia and Majorca and all who worked on it. Had an incredible time with you. Love, Adam.' The sports drama movie stars big names, including Sandler himself, such as Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, and Robert Duvall. The film is now in post-production, but it is not known when it will be officially released for eager movie fans!

3 Adam's Also Working On A 'Murder Mystery' Sequel

Adam's movie Murder Mystery was such a smash hit on Netflix that he's now working on a sequel to the hit movie, which was the most-watched original movie to be released on the platform in 2019. The sequel was announced in October last year, with Sandler and Jennifer Anniston set to return to screens. Little else is known about the upcoming movie, but fans can't wait to get a sneak peak.

2 He's Also Working On 'Spaceman'

Just when you thought Adam had enough projects on his plate, it also turns out he's working on new movie Spaceman (or The Spaceman of Bohemia). The film will chronicle the journey of a spaceman who is sent on a mission to a faraway galaxy to collect cosmic space dust. With life deteriorating back on earth, the spaceman employs the help of a friendly alien to get things back on track.

Moving away from Sandler's (much criticised) tendency to mostly cast long-time friends in his movies, the director has taken on British actress Cary Mulligan to play his on-screen wife. Paul Dano, another wildcard, has also been signed on to work on the film.

1 There Are Also Rumours About 'Happy Gilmore 2'

Okay, its official. If rumours are true about a possible Happy Gilmore 2 coming up, Adam may be in serious need of a vacation. Though there has been no official announcement about a sequel just yet, the rumor mill has gone into overdrive, and fans of the classic golfing comedy are beside themselves. Sandler is fond of creating sequels for his most successful movies, so it's definitely something the veteran actor might look into.

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show back in February, Sandler said: "It has not been discussed. But it’s certainly been discussed on the internet. Believe me, that senior tour idea – it would be so amazing." Only time will tell whether we'll see seeing it on our screens soon!
