Alfonso was born in 1959 from the actor's relationship with Loletha Adkins, although the pair called it quits after the son arrived. Morgan (Ellis "Red" Redding) recruited his son Alfonso in The Shawshank Redemption. At the beginning of the film, you can see him as one of the prisoners cheering the arrival of "Fresh Fish." In fact, his resemblance to his father is so uncanny that the team decided to use his picture when Red gets his documents stamped for parole. The film, as we all know, was a classic sleeper hit, despite its commercial failure.
7 Deena Worked On Various TV Shows As A Hairstylist
During his relationship with his first wife Jeanette, Morgan also adopted her daughter Deena, who she welcomed from her previous relationship. Fast forward decades later, she joined the entertainment industry and served as a hairstylist for several ambitious projects like the 2012 comedy The Magic of Belle Isle. She had even served in the make-up department for his father's projects, like The Nutcracker and The Four Realms (2018).
6 Alfanso Is A Proud Father Of Three
Additionally, Alfanso is the only biological daughter that Morgan and Loletha welcomed during their relationship. Fast forward to 2021, Alfoanso is now a proud father of three boys, who Morgan Freeman is very proud of. Morgan has been known to boast about his grandkids on his Instagram.

Morgan and an unnamed mysterious woman welcomed Saifoulaye in 1961, before he was married to his first wife. He was born a year after Alfonso. Unfortunately, unlike his half-brother, Saifoulaye had opted not to follow in his father's footsteps.

Perhaps Alfonso is perhaps Morgan's most active child in the entertainment industry. Interestingly, the Cal State University-Long Beach alumni had never met his father, until 1984 onthe set of The Atlanta Child Murders. The proud father of three also has several acting credits to his name, including cameo appearances in Death's Door, Inlighten Films, Social Girl, Decker, and more.
3 Deena's Daughter, E'Dena, Passed Away After A Violent Attack In 2015
Deena adopted a daughter, E'Dena Hines, who was born in 1982. Unfortunately, 33 years later, Hines was brutally murdered and stabbed 25 times in New York City by her own on-again-off-again boyfriend in 2015. “The day before she was killed, I spent time with her,” Deena reminisced, sobbing on the stand in the Manhattan Supreme court. "We drove to Jamaica, Queens, to look at my grandparents' house."
"The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer," the actor broke his silence about his granddaughter's death.

Morgana did try acting and follow her father's footsteps. As noted from her IMDb page, Morgana has an acting credit alongside her father in 1981 in Death of a Prophet. However, she hasn't done much acting since then, as she prefers to live her life outside the spotlight. Still, she often shares snaps on her private Instagram and often appears alongside her half-brother Alfonso.
