But what some have forgotten with all the headlines about Grimes and Elon's reportedly amicable split is that Elon has been married -- and had kids -- before.
He's actually been married three times, but two of those times were to the same woman. What's interesting about his second and third marriages is that they came after Elon started a family with his first wife, Justine Musk. What's amusing is that Justine herself has stated that Elon has a "type," and she might be right.
His second wife was Talulah Riley, and though the pair didn't have kids together, Talulah definitely played stepmom to Elon's five children with Justine. But whatever happened to her once they finally split, and what is she doing now?
Elon Musk Met Talulah Riley The Year He Divorced Justine
At the time Elon met Talulah, tabloids jumped all over the fact that he had just divorced Justine. However, Elon said in various interviews that he and Justine had already split, and that there was no merit to claims that he had "run off" with the much-younger Talulah.
But her age alone was enough to set tongues wagging; Talulah is 14 years Elon's junior. Of course, Grimes is three years younger than Talulah, but 2008 was a bit different time, apparently.
How Did Elon Musk Meet Talulah Riley?
The story goes that Elon and Talulah met at a bar, with Elon saying that she had nothing to do with his divorce; when he and Justine split, Talulah was half a world away.
But the actress reportedly charmed Musk immediately, and after dating for two years, they got married. Their first divorce was in 2012, though they remarried in 2013. Elon reportedly filed for divorce in 2014, but didn't go through with it.
But by 2016, Talulah wound up filing, and the divorce was eventually finalized. However, Elon later tweeted that he'd always love Talulah, and she later said that they "still see each other all the time and take care of each other."
What Is Talulah Riley Doing Now?
In her mid-30s now, Talulah Riley is still working, and though she received a hefty amount in her divorce settlement with Elon, she hasn't quit acting. Her recent projects included a stint on 'Westworld,' a handful of films including 2020's 'Bloodshot,' and an upcoming miniseries where she'll portray Vivienne Westwood.
Clearly, Talulah's doing just fine for herself, though fans haven't forgotten about those millions she was awarded after the divorce. Maybe that's how she affords her rural lifestyle, where she works on a farm with goats and chickens, without needing to take every acting gig that comes her way.
