In February 2022, Howard gave his audience an update about his mother's failing health. Although, he didn't go into detail about the precise illnesses Ray is suffering from. But he did share that he enlisted a number of doctors for help. This includes Dr. David Agus and Dr. Richard Shlofmitz, both of whom have been mentioned on the show before. By April, Howard claimed that the majority of his mom's issues were tied to depression. While her body was breaking down, her mental health was in a far worse state. So much so that she would often refuse to get out to bed, eat, or see anyone.

Howard's youngest daughter, who is a nurse practitioner, has been extremely helpful, as well as all the doctors who Howard is no doubt paying a fortune for. While he's complained about how much money this has cost him, the edgy radio host appears far more devastated seeing his mother in such a terrible state.

Howard Stern Pays For His Parents' Apartment And Healthcare

Howard's parents were notoriously stubborn about moving away from the Long Island community they spent much of their lives. But as soon as they grew too old to live alone in a big house, Howard moved them into an apartment he purchased. While Howard has said that the apartment isn't a large space, it certainly suits their needs.

It's also big enough for the two health care aides that Howard employs to spend much of the day with his parents. Because both Ray and Ben require different kinds of help, Howard thought it best to find them two separate health care workers.

This is something many people simply can't afford to do for their mom and dad. But Howard does. And he clearly is the type of guy who will go out of his way to ensure that his parents have all the comfort and help they need as they spend their final days on this Earth.
