Meghan McCain and Howard Stern are two of the most opinionated and passionate people in entertainment. Of course, they do completely different things for a living, but they share this trait in common. Both of them are free with their opinions on politics and even on The Real Housewives. And both have been embattled with their former colleagues. While everyone is currently talking about Meghan's exit from The View and her true relationship with Whoopi Goldberg, it's Howard how has most famously fought with some of his former colleagues, albeit mostly his management before moving to SiriusXM satellite radio.

Aside from this, the two seem somewhat opposite. Many of Meghan's critics see her as a "stuffy conservative" while Howard's critics now see him as a "Hollywood leftist". But the truth is, both individuals are far more dynamic than their critics suggest and much of this is exemplified by what they really think about one another.

Meghan Is All In On Howard's Sense Of Humor, Interviewing Skills, And Off-Air Kindness

When Meghan made her debut (and at the time of this writing, only) Howard Stern Show appearance in 2014, she was rumored to be the next conservative voice on The View. During her interview with Howard, she was asked about her relationship with each of the co-hosts and whether or not she liked guest-hosting with them. While her answers were very different than what we've been hearing from her today, they definitely seemed authentic. Not only does Megahn come across as brutally honest most of the time, but Howard creates an atmosphere on his show that almost forces his guests to be their true selves.

During their interview, Meghan discussed everything from who she thought was going to run in the 2016 election to who her father (the late Senator John McCain) hated amongst his Republican allies to what she thought about her father's running mate, Sarah Palin.

Even though many of Howard's critics claim he's become "too liberal", mostly due to his harsh critiques of former President Donald Trump, the legendary radio host has voted for Republicans in the past. Although he told Meghan that he voted for former President Barack Obama over her father he expressed a deep respect for Senator McCain due to his service to the country. Meghan knew that this wasn't just words as Howard had actually met both of her parents before and had very positive interactions with them. On top of this, Meghan claimed to be an avid listener of The Howard Stern Show and knew Howard had been kind about her father.

Overall, Meghan claimed that her interview with Howard was the best she'd ever done and has publically praised him on numerous occasions. Whenever Howard's name came up on The View, she always welcomed it affectionately and stated that she is a fan of his show and of him as a person.

Howard Openly Defended Meghan On The View

Meghan found a bit of an ally in Howard when he appeared on The View in 2019 to promote his book, "Howard Stern Comes Again". Almost immediately, Howard brought up Meghan's father who has passed away not too long before his appearance. He offered his condolences and praised him further. Meghan's response to Howard was equally touching and revealed that she still held Howard in very high esteem.

"I remember when he met you, because my parents said you were such a gentleman," Meghan said to Howard on The View. McCain said. "And then I went on your show and I thought he was going to have a heart attack. I remember I was like, 'I’m going on Howard Stern' and it’s still one of the highlights of my career. It was a great overall experience. You're the King Of All Media!"

But the moment that got the most press was when Howard defended Meghan from Joy Behar.

Later in the 2019 interview, Howard addressed the constant arguing on The View between Meghan and Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.

"Listen, I feel bad, I see you getting yelled at all the time," Howard said to Meghan before turning to Joy and Whoopi. "Give the woman a chance, for God’s sake! You’re chasing her out, she’s in tears!"

During his interview on The View, Howard was also taken to task for what co-host Sunny Hostin claimed were some controversial comments back in his shock-jock days. Even though he owned up to some of the things he's said in the past, Meghan came to his defense claiming that she was never offended by anything he said and found it funny. So, to some of her critics out there, it's clear she's not as "stuffy" as they may claim.

In 2020, Meghan publicly spoke about Howard again, saying that she was excited that Howard was resigning with SiriusXM for another five years. She even used the hashtag #BaBaBooey, proving that she is, indeed, a fan of the legendary radio host's show.
