Back in 2007, every high schooler at prom danced (very awkwardly) to Flo Rida's breakout hit "Low." The single was catchy, a bit raunchy, and propelled Flo Rida (yes, he's from Florida) into the spotlight. But fast forward a decade plus, and Flo Rida seems to have dropped off the rap radar.

What's he up to now, and did he continue on the same upward trajectory? Or did he head down the path of other one-hit-wonder/nostalgia-inducing rappers like Vanilla Ice?

Odds are, anyone who listens to the radio regularly has probably heard a song that involves Flo Rida's signature sound over the past few years. But though he's alluded to plans to release new music, Tramar Lacel Dillard hasn't released a studio album since 2014.

He's reluctant to tap out, though; Flo Rida continues to hint on social media that he's working on new music, even going so far as to slate a release date of January 2021 for his fifth album. But now that January has come and gone, it seems like Rida may have missed the boat.

He's still posting snaps of himself in the studio, but fans are starting to worry that the album drop won't ever happen.

When fans ask about Flo's upcoming album, though, he responds with raised-hand emojis and other promising signs that something truly is in the works. For the time being, though, fans will have to look back fondly on Flo's other hits.

Because while he hasn't released a studio album in a while, he has featured on other artists' tracks in the meantime. His last album came out in 2012 ('Wild Ones') and featured hits like 'Wild Ones,' 'Whistle' (which reached the number one spot on international music charts), and other trending tracks.

After that, Flo went on to collaborate with Olly Murs, Marc Mysterio, Jeremih, Robin Thicke, Sam Martin, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, and other artists -- even Maluma. Despite having flown low on the radar in recent years, Flo has exceeded Colombian global superstar Maluma's net worth by almost double, notes Wealthy Gorilla.

And though it wasn't a studio album, Flo Rida did put out an EP in 2015 titled 'My House.' Fans might recall this tune as Flo's most recent hit; it did head up the charts and peaked at number 3 on iTunes.

While Flo Rida doesn't seem to have been able to replicate the resounding success of 2007's 'Low,' he's had plenty of other career-defining songs and collaborations come out over the years. Now if he would just release his in-progress album, his millennial fans could finally breathe a sigh of relief (and nostalgia).
