It's been a full decade since Rebecca Black's song 'Friday' came out. It may not feel like it's been that long, but for fans who loved the song and helped it go viral, there are lingering questions about where Black went post-single.

At the time, Rebecca was just a teen. She was 14 years old when she became famous, all thanks to a song that her mom paid a few thousand dollars for, but things didn't end there.

After the song's release -- and chart-topping presence -- Rebecca got to appear in Katy Perry's video for 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),' had her song covered on 'Glee,' and even started an independent record label after falling out with the record label that handled 'Friday.'

It was an intense and fast-paced rise, so where did Rebecca go from there? The singer is now 23 years old, and it's probably not surprising that she's something of an Instagram influencer these days (isn't every celeb?).

She posts up with her blue hair, cool outfits, and cover art for remixes of 'Friday.' The singer has clearly grown a lot, both in terms of her creative chops and her perspective on fame.

She's still working on music, which fans from 2011 are happy to hear, but really, she never left the industry. There was a bit of a break between 2013 and 2016, where Black only released covers of other artists' songs. But in 2016, she came out with a new single ('The Great Divide'), and then an EP in 2017.

Then in 2018, Rebecca appeared on 'The Four: Battle for Stardom' as a contestant. She sang songs by NSYNC, Leon Russell (a pianist), and Ednaswap, but didn't move forward to the final round.

Black wasn't deterred, though; in 2019, she released a handful of singles, and in early 2021, she released one new song and a remix of 'Friday.'

Black even has an IMDb page that documents many of her music video appearances, plus guest appearances in other artists' videos. She's also appeared on a TV series, and her most recent project is a comedy film (due out soon!).

Clearly, trolls who didn't like Black early in her career had no effect on the artist's ability to shake it off and keep climbing. She may not have hit the same level of fame as other artists with singular viral hits, but she's amassed a following of about one million fans on Instagram alone.

Obviously, fans are still clamoring for more of Rebecca, even ten years after her hit single came out. And though her start was a bit tumultuous, especially with all the legal troubles since her mom literally paid for her daughter's first song, it all paid off in the end.
