Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have been close pals for as long as fans can remember, having launched their successful modeling careers right around the same time. But while the best of friends got their big break in the fashion industry around the same time, one has undoubtedly made more money than the other.

Both girls are two of the most sought-after models today, fronting campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein, Versace, Estee Lauder, Nike, Puma, and many other brands, but who has been making more money?

Gigi Hadid’s Earnings

It’s only right that we start with Gigi, who has been modeling since the age of 2 when she landed her first gig for a photoshoot with Baby Guess.

Her net worth was estimated to be around $13 million in 2019 but has since skyrocketed to an impressive $29 million in 2020, and that’s despite the fact that she kept a low-profile for most of the year, as she geared up for the birth of her daughter- in September.

She’s come a long way from the reported $9.5 million she earned in 2018, which was just $500,000 shy of what the likes of Gisele Bundchen and Cara Delevingne were believed to have earned that year, so her career was already booming.

At the age of 17, the 25-year-old signed with IMG Models, who have since booked her for some of the most lucrative jobs in the industry, such as her lengthy Tommy Hilfiger collaboration, while she’s also built great relationships with other brands including Moschino, Chanel, and Tom Ford.

To date, she’s also walked in three Victoria’s Secret fashion shows and commands up to $30,000 per post on Instagram with her following having now surpassed 60 million fans on the social media platform.

As of late, Hadid has also been modeling the Savage X Fenty lingerie collection by Rihanna, whose fashion shows she has made two appearances in so far.

Other notable brands the blonde has worked with include Evian, Prada, BMW, and Vogue Eyewear, which explains how she’s managed to double her net worth in just over a year — one can only imagine the numbers she’ll pull in for 2021.

Kendall Jenner’s Net Worth

Kendall has amassed an impressive $45 million net worth, and while not all of her earnings have come from modeling, she’s still one of the highest-earning models in the industry right now.

In 2017, at the age of 22, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was named the highest-paid model, taking home a massive $22 million, which was more than double the amount she made in 2016, where she banked $10 million.

Of course, once taxes and fees are deducted, those numbers change drastically, but the fact that Jenner was already earning more than any other model so early into her career speaks volumes on how much more money she will make in the future.

Since her debut on the runway back in 2011, Jenner has modeled for a string of major companies such as Modern Muse, Calvin Klein, having also covered dozens of prestigious magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, and Glamour, just to name a few.

Unlike Hadid, who’s believed to pull in $30,00 per post on Instagram, Kendall, who boasts over 142 million followers, charges less than $600,000 to feature a company’s product on her page.

That’s quite a contrast between the money her friend makes from her IG, but one also has to consider that Jenner has a wider following and presumably much higher engagement.

Per season of KUWTK, the California native makes between $4-5 million, with her mother Kris Jenner having previously revealed that whenever the family signed a deal with the E! Network to renew their contracts, the money is always shared equally between them.

Just like Hadid, Jenner has also walked in three shows for Victoria’s Secret, but she’s also graced the catwalk for many reputable designers including Michael Kors, Diane von Fürstenberg, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta, and many more.

Speaking about her booming modeling career in an interview with Vogue back in January 2016, the brunette gushed: "I want this to last, I want it to be something big and I want it to be something special.

"Mariacarla Boscono has taught me a lot, and I have been lucky enough to become good friends with so many amazing models.

"You learn from your experiences and you learn from working with these people even if they're not telling your straight up 'Do this, do that, you shouldn't do that,' you learn from just being around them.”
