Since Mark Hamill has been very famous for many decades at this point, most cinema fans have come to realize that he is a uniquely talented fellow. Sure, he is best known for playing Luke Skywalker but he has accomplished a lot more than that. After all, Hamill has proven to be among the best voice actors of his generation.

In order for a voice actor to rise to the top of the business, they need to be able to express a great deal of emotion with their voice alone. With that in mind, it makes perfect sense that most of the top voice actors in the world have big personalities and Mark Hamill is no different in that regard. For proof of that, all you have to do is watch Hamill’s talk show appearances in which he almost always is hilarious.

One of the main reasons why Mark Hamill is such a funny guy during interviews is that he doesn’t take himself overly seriously For example, most actors wouldn’t post an image on Twitter in which they are directly calling themselves out. In March of 2021, Hamill once again proved that he is happy to make fun of himself when he revealed that a particular Star Wars meme makes him cringe every time he sees it.

Negative Experiences

Even though there are so many people in the world who dream of making a living as an actor someday, the vast majority of them will never come close to attaining that goal. With that in mind, you may assume that every actor who has struck it big has been overjoyed with their experience. However, in reality, the grass is always greener on the other side and a lot of actors who’ve become famous have come to resent the project that made them a star

Unfortunately, a lot of different Star Wars actors grew to dislike their experiences with the franchise for one reason or another. For example, it has never been a secret that Harrison Ford wanted his character killed off so he would be done with the series partially because he doesn’t find Han Solo very interesting. John Boyega also once compared starring in the Star Wars franchise to a stay in a “luxury jail”. Jake Lloyd and Ahmed Best have also been very open about the fact that being associated with Star Wars caused a great deal of emotional upheaval in their lives.

Mark’s Appreciation

Of course, most Star Wars fans will already know that Mark Hamill has expressed his frustration with the franchise in the past. After all, he was very open about disliking the way Luke Skywalker was portrayed in Star Wars: The Last Jedi before apologizing for his remarks. Despite that, Hamill has also spoken about how much he appreciates his Star Wars legacy. In fact, he even wrote an open letter of love to fans that he posted to Twitter.

Since Mark Hamill’s heartfelt letter was pretty lengthy, there isn’t enough space to recap it all here. That said, there is enough space to include some of the letter’s more notable lines. "As Carrie once said, Star Wars is about family, and that is what we all have become — one giant community that shares the experience of these stories and the fundamental value they instill in us," "I am deeply thankful for all your continued enthusiasm and dedication to George's faraway galaxy, which will continue to grow with new storytellers building an even bigger gallery, filled with heroes, villains, action, romance, and, of course, The Force."

Cringeworthy Meme

Whenever people get trained to responsibly handle firearms in real life, the very first lesson is to never point them at people. Of course, on top of not pointing weapons at anyone else, it is equally important that people never direct a firearm at themself. Judging by the meme that Mark Hamill posted on Twitter in March 2021, Mark may not have known about those rules when he filmed Star Wars in 1977.

In the meme that Mark Hamill posted, he is seen in character as Luke Skywalker looking down the barrel of his lightsaber. Of course, in reality, the lightsaber that Hamill is holding in the image was nothing more than a prop. However, since Hamill looks like he is portraying Luke Skywalker in the image, it is ridiculous for him to have the lightsaber directed at himself for obvious reasons.

Evidently aware of why you should never point a weapon at yourself now, Mark Hamill made it clear in his Twitter post that the image of him in character doing that bothers him now. “This makes me cringe every time I see it. 😳 😩 I don't remember doing this in the movie. I think it's just an on-set production still, otherwise Obi-Wan wouldn't look so remarkably unconcerned.”
