Since so many people seem to think of celebrities as being a different class of people these days, it makes sense that they pay a lot of attention when stars start dating someone. After all, there are some stars who people care about so much that their significant others become much more famous based on that relationship.
Of course, throughout history, people have put certain celebrities on a pedestal. However, in decades past most people paid very little attention to the people who dated or married celebrities if they weren’t famous in their own right.

A highly successful actor, Caruso has been quite famous at various points in his life. Despite that, most people know next to nothing about the three women he married over the years.
David Caruso’s Claim To Fame
A professional actor who has been working consistently since the early-‘80s, it wasn’t until the early-‘90s that David Caruso truly rose to fame. One of the stars of NYPD Blue’s first two seasons, at the time Caruso was so popular that he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama. Then, David arguably garnered even more attention for quitting NYPD Blue even though the show was extremely popular and still in its infancy.
Several years after David Caruso left NYPD Blue behind, he returned to television stardom but this time he stayed in the role for a lot longer. As the star of CSI: Miami from 2002 until 2012, Caruso became an even bigger star than at any other time in his career.
David’s Ex-Wives
Over David Caruso’s life, he has wed three different women, and unfortunately, none of his marriages have been able to go the distance. Remarkably enough, of David’s three ex-wives, the least is known about his most recent spouse, Margaret Buckley. Married to David from 1996 until 2007, Buckley reportedly was a flight attendant in her late-20s when she met Caruso. After walking down the aisle, Buckley opened up a classy clothing store named Steam on Sunset with David in Miami, Florida but unfortunately, the business later closed.
When it comes to David Caruso’s first wife, Cheri Maugans, they were married from 1979 until 1984. An actor in her own right, Maugans mostly got work as a TV actor as she appeared in shows like Dallas, Tucker’s Witch, and Archie Bunker’s Place. Additionally, Maugans appeared in a TV movie called The Red-Light Sting. Despite all of that, Maugans greatest claim to fame is playing Edna in Friday the 13th Part III. Unlike most of Jason Voorhees’ victims, Maugans’ Edna was portrayed as a more mature woman which is why the character was dispatched with a knitting needle.
Of David Caruso’s three wives, Rachel Ticotin is the most famous by far. While most people may not recognize Ticotin’s name, she is a character actor who is instantly recognizable to legions of TV and movie fans. Arguably best known for her role in the movie Total Recall, in that film Ticotin played the female lead and she shared the screen with Arnold Schwarzenegger throughout. Considering that Schwarzenegger was a huge star who was responsible for the success of many films, co-starring with him at the height of his career was a huge deal. Ticotin also starred in the short-lived show Law & Order: LA and other movies like Fort Apache, The Bronx, Falling Down, and Con Air. Ticotin also is the mother of David Caruso’s eldest child, his daughter Greta.
Serious Accusations
In addition to the three women that David Caruso married, he has been romantically linked to other women. Most notably, Caruso had a girlfriend named Lisa Marquez and she gave birth to his two youngest children, a son and daughter. After their time together, Marquez sued Caruso in 2009 accusing him of fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract, and six additional charges.
After getting their hands on the paperwork that Lisa Marquez filed when she sued David Caruso, Access Online outlined the claims she was making. According to Marquez’s lawsuit, Caruso convinced her to give up a job she been offered to work on CSI: Miami while claiming he “wanted to provide for and support” her. The lawsuit further alleges that after Marquez and Caruso moved in together and created a “marriage-like relationship”, she became the target of his “tirades” and “emotional and mental abuse” over her interactions with other men. From there, Marquez’s lawsuit claims that Caruso’s “tantrums began to escalate” and he raised a hand to her “several… times.”
After several tumultuous years together and David Caruso allegedly convincing Lisa Marquez to depend on him financially, he suddenly broke up with her after the birth of their second child. In addition to all of the alleged physical and mental abuse, Marquez also claims that “Caruso agreed to pay her $1,000,000 plus attorney’s fees as a settlement”. If Marquez had made all of those claims roughly a decade later, it is easy to imagine Caruso getting wrapped up in the #MeToo movement.
